Hillside Villa, fantastic views, Nizza Monferrato
Casa Castegneti villa is a spacious bungalow, sited in the UNESCO region, on a hill close to Nizza Monferrato and Aqui Terme. The villa is ideal for those looking for peace and tranquility with fantastic views across rolling hills. Close by there are a wide range of local amenities, wine tours, excellent restaurants in fabulous countryside, steeped in history. The villa is well equipped and has large, light, airy rooms. The garden has lots of flowers and fruit trees maintained by our gardener. Casa Castegneti is a bungalow/ villa sitting on a hill just outside Castelnuovo Belbo, between Asti and Alessandria near to Nizza Monferrato. Inside the villa, there is a large tastefully decorated lounge with Smart TV, large wood stove, new double sofa bed and chairs. There is also a new dining table and 6 chairs. The patio doors and windows look out over the stunning local views of vineyards and hills. The kitchen is spacious, tiled and equipped with a gas cooker and fridge/freezer. There are also juicers, coffee machine, sandwich/steak grill and dishwasher. The Sun lounge or sitting room, looks out over the garden through double patio doors. Here is another TV with VHS and DVD facility. There is also a desk and chair with printer. The bedrooms are all light and airy with high ceilings and attractive decoration. All of the beds are new. The bathroom has a bath and independent large shower. The washer is also in the bathroom. The villa is South facing, looking over rolling hills of vines and woodland. About 2 kms away, towards Aqui Terme is the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista, a beautiful ‘cathedral like’ church which is lit up in the evening and enhances the panoramic views. A patio to the side of the villa has views of the sun rising in the morning, the patio at the front of the house has the sun all day, though there is a gazebo with primrose growing over, to provide shade, and in the evening at the entrance to the drive, there are views to the Alps where the sun sets behind during summer. Behind Casa Castegneti, are vines, to the sides are small woodlands, and below are vines, though the gardens of the villa itself are laid to grass with borders of primrose, flowers, other climbers, roses, and a few olives, pear trees and figs. Beyond the top garden areas, the land slopes down and is recently planted with nut trees. The gardens and property are maintained by our own gardener and property manager. The local area was two years ago listed as a UNESCO World Heritage region, renowned for the famous wines produced, and traditional culture. There are many wine tours available, either on bike, in organised tours, or design your own tour in the car. Indeed the vines just below the villa are owned and run by Roberto Eschueller who grows, harvests and produces his own wine on site. Very high quality reds, and the areas best sparkling Cortese (in my view). In the woods around the property there are many fine walks with views over the countryside, and to the North, on a clear day, views to the Alps. The area has many boar, deer and other wildlife. The area is a fantastic cycling area, with quiet roads through villages. The view from the villa is recognised as the best in the area, with the recently installed 'big bench' 50m away, a local tourist attraction. The whole area around Nizza Monferrato is experiencing a surge in interest and visitors, keen to explore the wines being produced, but more to enjoy the unspoilt countryside. All of the villa, and the garden areas in front and to the side We have a property manager who lives in Nizza Monferrato and will always be available to assist, should you have any issues or questions. He will also meet you on your arrival and explain how appliances work etc in the villa. The villa is very secluded, with a private, gated driveway to the house. There are no houses immediately around or overlooking the property, with the fields around all put to vines. It is a 15 minute walk to the local village. The area has some great Tattoria's in every direction, and some excellent Ristorante's, all within a short driving distance. During the winter months, 1st October to 31st March the house will require heating. We have two gas portable heaters, and two wood burning stoves that in addition to heating the rooms they are in, blow warm air to two bedrooms and the bathroom. There is a daily charge of 10 euros per day for gas, and 15 euros per day for wood. These will be available when you arrive, and we will re supply if you run out during your stay. Please note we will charge Euro30 if you leave the BBQ's uncleaned, and up to Euro100 if the house and gardens are not left in a good condition. These charges will be deducted from your Euro400 security deposit held by Airbnb. Breakages and damage are deducted separately and taken from the deposit.
