Idyllic Hills garden sanctuary amongst the vines

An 1880's sandstone villa set in an acre of gardens, nestled amongst the vines in the very beautiful Adelaide Hills. Accomodation consists of 2 guest suites with en-suite bathrooms, french doors to the garden, queen beds, luxury linen, antiques, polished floors, radiators / underfloor heating, aircon, connecting hallway, dining nook, laundry / galley kitchen. Suite 1 converts to a sitting room if required. Private entrance, guest parking, access to gardens including seating and dining areas. Set at the rear of the property, the guest suites are accessed via a gated laneway with dedicated parking, private entry to connecting hallway, two guest suites with en-suite bathrooms, galley kitchen and laundry. The galley kitchen consists of a fridge / freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, small electric cooktop, sink, and an appropriate range of utensils and crockery. The laundry is co-located with the kitchen and includes a Miele washer and dryer, ironing board and iron. There is a dining nook that seats up to 6 people when the weather is inclement, and each suite has its own small table and two stools. There is dedicated guest outdoor seating and dining and a BBQ under the walnut tree. Please note the home is booked in its entirety and is not shared with any other guests. Accomodation is setup as 2 bedroom suites. However, if required, the room configuration can be adjusted so that the 2nd suite becomes a sitting room - please advise when booking. For slightly larger groups, Suite 1 has a three seater couch, suitable as an adult or children's bed, and Suite 2 has a two seater couch suitable for a child. Please note guest facilities are in a separate part of the house with separate access. The adjoining door between the guest wing and the main house is locked to ensure privacy of our guests. Guests are welcome to access the gardens including all seating and dining areas. Please note that the gardens are at their best in spring and early summer, fading during summer and autumn in line with the seasons. Irrespective of the weather or the season, guests can be sure of a tranquil and private stay. Guests are advised to bring suitable clothing during the winter moths. Steve & Ant live in the main house and are always happy to help. Steve will be frequently found working in the garden - weather permitting. Great for walking / cycling / wine tasting / gourmet dining / local pubs Our place is just 20 minutes from the City of Adelaide, and 4Km from the Crafers exit of the South Eastern Freeway. It is located in the Adelaide Hills wine region. The picturesque town of Stirling is 5Km away, with hotel, cafes and restaurants, the famous Organic Market, boutique shops as well as two supermarkets. Stirling, Crafers and Uraidla all have hotels offering quality restaurant meals. The Stirling Hotel also provides fine dining at the Mallee Grill and a pizzeria. Other local eateries include Lost in the Forest, The Aristologist and Hardy's Verandah and Arthur Waterhouse Lounge - both at Mount Lofty House. Hahndorf - South Australia's No 1 tourist attraction is 15 minutes away, with many local wineries nearby including The Lane, Shaw and Smith, Ashton Hills, Nepenthe and Hahndorf Hill (offering its chocovino experience). Our closest winery is Tapanappa sporting it's new deck overlooking the vines, a 2 minutes drive or a 20 minute walk. Mounty Lofty is a 5 minute drive (walkable for serious walkers) with great views of the city, Gulf St Vincent, McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley. There is a cafe at the summit. The Cleland Wildlife Park is just minutes away. Barossa and McLaren Vale wine regions are less than an hour away, with the Clare Valley just under two hours. Our place operates an enviro-cycle (water treatment and recycling plant) that prevents the use and disposal of any chlorine based products or disinfectant in the bathrooms, kitchen and laundry. Alternative disposal facilities are available on request.
