Treveddw Farm Cabin
Welcome to Treveddw Farm. We offer self catering for 2 adults and 2 young children (one sleeping on a single airbed in the sitting room) or a maximum of 3 adults. The location is perfect for walking, touring or alternatively bring your horse (additional cost) with you for excellent riding all from our farm in the beautiful Black Mountains in South Wales. We are situated in the Brecon Beacon National Park and right on the Offas Dyke footpath. Dogs can come too! The accommodation is tucked away next to a Dutch barn just on the edge of the farmyard but with privacy from the farmhouse we live in nearby. It is a mobile home clad in gorgeous larch lap creating a cabin style home. It has 2 bedrooms, one single and one double and an extra airbed can be put up in the sitting room for a child. During the colder months we have oil fired radiators to keep you nice and warm plus extra blankets to put on your bed. Though we suggest for your comfort you bring a hot water bottle and extra layers just in case you need to keep extra warm and toasty. The accommodation has amazing views across the valley and usually has a field full of horses or cattle in front of it. The small garden is private and well fenced. Parking is in the barn or yard next to the accommodation. We are able to dry your coats, boots etc. if you unfortunately get wet. Also we can get you food provisions in if you are walking the Offa’s Dyke path which goes through our farm. Or alternatively it might be for an anniversary or special occasion. We have great florists in nearby Abergavenny and know several caterers who will do Afternoon teas or grazing boxes. We also have a local smokery in Crickhowell who will deliver to the farm. We are happy to arrange with you a surprise on your arrival. Please just ask. We have a well stocked shop in the village that is open 7am-6pm 5 days a week and closes at 1pm on Saturday/Sunday. Also if you are arriving on a Sunday evening all shops shut at 4pm. We don’t have any 24 hour shops locally. So please bear that in mind. To be able to offer single night stays we ask that you leave the Cabin as clean and tidy as possible so that the next guests arriving are able to check in at 3pm, following a thorough Covid clean. Please strip your beds as that gives us more time time and a quicker turnaround. Our one request is if you smoke please don’t smoke in the Cabin or in the garden or farm yard as it is a risk issue as the Cabin is next to a straw barn. It is a working farm so please be prepared for animal and tractor noises and some interesting rural smells! Our livestock are not suitable for petting and our horses are not able to be ridden by guests, sorry. Look forward to seeing you soon! We have good road links to the M50, M5 and M4. All the A roads are easy and then the B roads and narrow country lanes do get more interesting but as long as you keep into your side of the road there’s no problem! Lots of parking but avoid field gateways. We live and work on the farm and available if required to assist you in any queries you may have about the accommodation or location. We respectfully remind you that this is a rural area full of livestock especially sheep and we ask that your dogs are always kept on a lead.
