Angel's Rest, Barossa

Nestled in the historic hamlet of Truro, Angel's Rest provides the Elegance & Old World Charm of yesteryear & combines it with the comforts of modern day life. Not your everyday style of guest house, Angel's Rest provides you & your friends with a two story home, an extensive living area, three bedrooms upstairs & two bathrooms. The home is equipped with a huge kitchen & cosy backyard area. The Barossa Valley is just a 10min drive with an abundance of wineries & restaurants to explore. Situated at the gateway to the Barossa, right on the Sturt Highway, Angel's Rest provides an elegant getaway for the weary traveller or the wine trail adventurer. Angel's Rest was built in 1850. The history filled building was known by the locals as an "angels rest" as the owners at the time were known to take in and care for itinerant travellers. You will be amazed as you walk through the front door as unlike most compact accommodation facilities, this stately home is large and rambling and fully self contained. Enjoy a full kitchen, lounging area with large screen television and an eight-seater polished dining table. Sit back and relax in the rocking chair and admire the old grandfather clock built in the 1700s. There are two bathrooms, complete with claw foot bath and brass shower fittings, for your comfort and convenience. Upstairs has three bedrooms (two queen size beds and one single), high quality linen and warm, comfy quilts and cushions. There is a large garden with seating and a BBQ, so in the warmer months you can delight in the outdoors - a lovely space to relax in. Keeping it's unique old world charm and combining the luxury of modern comfort and convenience, this is a peaceful haven for the weary traveller. We provide Tea,Coffee,Sugar and Milk. Guests have access to the entire home. A private courtyard is also available for our guests to use. There is a shared access to the backyard space, clothes line, secure parking etc. Plenty of privacy with space to relax. There are stairs at the front and rear of the house to gain entry to the house and there are stairs to get to the upstairs to all the bedrooms. We are happy to meet & greet guests on their arrival but are also happy for you to do your own check-in. We have permanent tenants in the cottage adjacent to Angels Rest, who are respectful of our guests privacy. While we do not live on site, we are just down the road from Angels Rest and only a phone call away should you need assistance. Centrally located to the local services of Truro (bakery, post office, local hotel & bottle shop, service station) it is a casual walk to access most of your needs. Truro has a wonderful takeaway where you can get the tastiest authentic Indian curries & accompaniments. Fossick through the two local second hand shops to find that special something. Drop over the road to Craneford Wines to grab a bottle to enjoy with your curry. You'll be surprised what Truro has to offer! Located one hours drive on the Sturt Highway from Adelaide, Angels Rest is easy to find. Centrally located with the Murray River & Riverland only 30 minutes drive East, the Clare Valley 45 minutes to the north west and the main towns of the Barossa Valley (Nuriootpa, Angaston & Tanunda) all within 10 minutes drive, Angels Rest is the perfect place to stay. Off-Street parking is available if you prefer - please ask when enquiring about a booking. Our house is located on a main highway so be aware there is some road noise,we do have roller shutters on front bedroom windows to reduce the noise.and verandah blinds and shutters on inside windows.
