Koonwarra Cottage 1 & Koonwarra Cottage 2 (listed separately ) are set amongst six acres of spectacular gums and native gardens, an ideal retreat for those seeking relaxation and a little piece of the country atmosphere. Also a great base from which to explore beautiful Wilsons Promontory National park. Koonwarra Cottage 1 is located just off the South Gippsland Hwy, adjoining the Koonwarra village The country style cottage is a charming self contained two bedroom cottage, where guests can unwind with a relaxing spa, and a cosy wood fire for those winter months and air conditioned for the hotter months. We invite our guest to wander through our native and cottage gardens or relax in the spacious gazebo/ bbq are. Feel free to sit under the beautiful large gum trees and read a book or take advantage of our various old horse drawn wagons and rustic country buildings to get some memorable photo's, which we are happy to help you with. You are also welcome to meet our friendly farm animals, Nutmeg the goat and our friendly alpacas & sheep, who are more than happy to help you dispose of any food scraps you have. They love human interaction. Laundry facilities are available , and are located right beside cottage. As Brett and I live on the property with our two adult children, we are usually around if required during your stay, if not we are contactable by phone. We will respect your privacy if you would rather not interact. As it is a large six acre rural property, the cottage is set in its own peaceful surrounding away from the main homestead. Koonwarra is a small village located in the South Gippsland farming area. The area is peaceful and has that small village atmosphere. We have lived in Koonwarra for more than 20 years, and raised our two children on the property. We find the relaxed atmosphere a great way to live, and enjoy life , spending a lot of time in our gardens and meeting new people gives us great pleasure. We are located just off the Sth Gippsland Hwy, adjoining the Koonwarra Village, which has fine food cafe resturants, art and craft galleries, local fresh produce farmers market store and markets held on the 1st Saturday of the month. Koonwarra village features The Great Southern Rail Trail, a 66km walking, cycling and horse rail trail, that travels from Leongatha to Port Welshpool with spectacular scenery and beautiful country villages to explore along the trail. While staying at our cottage you will need a car. During you stay with us you will find that we are centrally located to many places of interest. Only minutes drive to local wineries. 5-10 minute drive to three 18 hole golf courses. 15 minute drive to Inverloch with excellent beaches , resturants and cafes. 40 minute drive to Wilson Promontory National Park with beautiful beaches and walks. 50 minute drive to Phillip Island , with penguins and beaches. Other tourist drives and National Parks are also within reach, such as Agnes Falls, Cape Liptrap Lighthouse, Grandridge Rd, Strezlecki Ranges, Turra-bulga, Turtons Creek and Walkerville Lime Kilns, and much, much more. Koonwarra Cottages are located 1 1/2 hrs from Melbourne. Great 3G and 4G mobile coverage. No Wi Fi available. Wood is not supplied for the wood heater from 1st December until the 31 st March
