The school house is situated in a rural setting, with beautiful views of the garden and surrounding countryside. Built in the 1880's and operational as a school until 1939, it has a character and history all its own. Being centrally located it is 30 minutes from the Waitomo Glow worm caves and 45 minutes from the Hobbiton Movie set. Surrounded by trees relax and listen to the bird song and watch the sun set over Mt Pirongia and Kakapuka. The school house is self contained with its own drive way. The School house is in our garden and we are generally around if needed. We have views over open country side with Mt Pirongia and Mt Kakapuka. The trees that surround the school house often are alive with Tuis. There is a golf course just down the road and Te Awamutu has an indoor pool and a cinema featured in the lonely planet guide. There is a space centre attraction just up the road. We offer free parking, with room for large vehicles and even boats. There is a bus sevice but it is a few km's away from us. You really need a car to stay at the school house. Although we do not provide breakfast we do supply a loaf of bread and some butter and spreads, also eggs if the chickens are laying, milk and tea coffee, hot chocolate and milo. There is a queen bed in the bedroom, and also we can put up the hotel quality roll away bed, either in the bedroom or in the lounge behind the settee out of the way.
