Indulge yourself with a stay in our rustic grand old lady. Over 100 years old, she has lovingly been restored to a light filled space. Fire place, AC in Master, Wifi - Your home away from home. Just an hour from Brisbane in the stunning Scenic Rim, feel yourself relax as you drive in the gates. Set on 2 acres of rolling hills, settle in to read, or head out to explore wineries, cafes, pubs and bookshops. Go for a hike, bike ride, canoe or even paraglide! The Scenic Rim has it all and more! "Hi Tony and Suz, thanks again for sharing your beauty! The cows, the chooks, and the stars. And the sea breeze. All fabulous and restorative." Our stunning 2 Acre property is peaceful and surrounded by bushland, great views, fresh clean air, wildlife like kangaroos, wallabies, and an array of birdlife. Modern, clean and light, non-smoking, queen bedrooms with ceiling fans, and beautiful views. Main bedroom - Walk-in wardrobe, air-conditioned (cool only), bright bathroom with fresh towels, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided. The second bedroom, adjacent to the fire-place has access to the main bathroom and toilet. Due to increasing demand, we have added two singles to the sunroom (3rd bedroom), which also accesses the main bathroom. Chef's kitchen leading onto an entertaining area. Large decks to watch the sunset, eat your breakfast, bird watching or star gazing from the deck chairs. This lovingly restored property is in the leafy and peaceful Scenic Rim, famous for stunning landscape, bushwalking, hiking, wine tasting, and photography. To explore the area, you'll need a car. The property is our actual home - we relocate to enable guests to experience our little piece of magic. As such, we aim to attract like-minded people with great respect for our home. We fell in love with this old girl when we stepped inside and the light was heavenly. 'Lumiere' means light in French. She is eclectic in style with many interesting pieces to woo over. Styled by Suz @graceyourspacesuz Suggested Foodies Itinerary: DAY 1 - Enjoy a country drive until you arrive at one of the Scenic Rim's world class wineries for lunch. Mid afternoon check in, followed by a snooze. Enjoy cheese, biscuits and a glass of wine as you watch the sunset. Ask about our delivered meal options, cook your own or head to one of the local pubs DAY 2 - breakfast on either front or back deck or head into Boonah for breakfast and shopping. Drive to Camel Farm for tour and lunch, followed by afternoon tea and shopping at Scenic Rim Farm Shop. (option to order online for all your local produce and don't forget your esky!) Back to the house for sunset drinks and a roaring fire. DAY 3 - Breakfast on the deck, in Kalbar, Boonah, or at the Boonah Markets (every second Sat). Long Lunch at either Overflow Estate or Kooroomba. Back to the house for a meal and fire. DAY 4 - Check out, drive to Lake Moogerah for a picnic, or head to the Scenic Rim Brewery for lunch on the deck. Head home with your heart and bellies full. IMPORTANT NOTES *Our business relies on reviews. Please understand that you are staying in the country: -you may see the occasion mouse -the birds poo on the railings after they have been cleaned -The dust is relentless -COUPLES - if you choose to stay in accommodation with 3 bedrooms, suited to 6 people, please don't penalise us - Winter is freezing, bring layers -Your nearest cup of coffee and IGA is 16 mins away. Attractions require a car and there is very little in the way of transport. * Bridal parties will be assessed on an individual basis and attract an additional $100 refundable fee on satisfactory inspection. *As with many properties in the Scenic Rim, we use tank water, hence a pump. The pump fires when the tap is on and the toilet flushed. We advise to let it mellow if it's yellow - especially during the night. *We have NBN which performs well the majority of the time. Like most, it slows down in the afternoon and evening. Mobile phone access is better with Telstra and the best coverage is under the palm tree out the front. Please notify us of your time of arrival, so you arrive at a freshly appointed room. Please contact us before making a last-minute booking to make sure we are able to let you in. All bookings more than 24 hours before arrival are most welcome to make an instant booking. For more images and things to do around the Scenic Rim, head to @lumiere_farmhouse There are two lounge areas, one with a daybed, games and books/magazines, great for just relaxing or enjoying a cuppa. There are two queen rooms available for your stay, as well as two singles in the sun room. Guests are UNABLE to access our room at the front of the house. Guests are able to access any of the two living areas and either of the decks at the house. The deck offers stunning sunrises and sunsets, star gazing and a meals area. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, dedicated guest cupboard with cutlery and crockery and the barbecue. Meals can also be enjoyed at the breakfast bar. As you are booking the whole house we will relocate for you to enjoy. Stunning, quiet, lots of things to do. Loads of walks, cycling, hiking, wineries, coffee shops, brewery, markets. There are some brochures in the informal sitting room for your perusal. The property is very peaceful, and very little traffic goes past on our dirt road. Boonah - 15 minutes Mt French - 20 minutes Lake Moogerah - 35 minutes Maroon Dam - 30 minutes Dugandan Hotel - 20 minutes Ipswich - 20 minutes The drives around Scenic Rim are nothing short of stunning. Please go to visit scenic rim - itineraries to view. You will need a car or motor bike to get around the Scenic Rim As with most rural properties, we have septic tanks, and tank water. Moreover, less is more when it comes to flushing toilet paper, and please be mindful that no fat or other objects go down the drains. We are always mindful of water usage as well. Drones are NOT permitted on the property and will be reported if doing so.
