Located close to Angouleme, Tillac offers guests a calm and tranquil stay in a country setting. With little light, noise or air pollution guests can really relax and enjoy rural France. The gites formally a farm complex sit in a rural setting with the local area mainly given to wine making and farming. With so much to see and do, guests can visit local vineyards, towns and villages and historical monuments. Angouleme, Cognac, Bordeaux and the Atlantic beaches are within reach. There are three gites at Tillac. Alouette is a lovely two bedroom cottage in the original farm buildings block in the inner courtyard. With courtyard views, the living area, dining area and kitchen are open plan with a bedroom on both sides of the building. The modernized bathroom has been extended and has a large shower room, a utility area and a separate toilet. Guests have both French and UK television. Outside, cottage guests have exclusive access to a large adjacent open barn for Al Fresco dining, evening BBQ’s and an AstroTurf area for games, e.g. Ping pong and darts. The buildings are set in several acres of mature gardens with a large secure pool area in the center of the garden. The heated pool is 12m by 7m and have a depth of 1.25m. Each gite has dedicated loungers and parasols in the pool area. There are relaxation zones around the garden and guests have access to the gym / games room with a variety of exercise machines, multi-gym, interactive play and a small book library. Due to the rural location guests will need motorized transport when staying at TIllac. The road transport links are very good with the main N10 a short drive away. There are several local cycles routes for those who want to exercise and to view the local scenery at a slower pace. Cottage guests park in the inner courtyard. We live on site and make sure to briefly touch base with guests every day, even if only to say Bonjour. We offer information on interesting towns and villages to visit as well as historic monuments and sporty activities like kayak. Whilst being in a rural hamlet location, local amenities are within driving distance. The town of Mouthe-sur-Boeme is a 5 minute drive away, with Blanzac 10 minutes and Villebois-Lavalette about 15 minutes drive. The fortified hilltop town of Angouleme is a 20 minute drive, Cognac about 30 minutes and the Atlantic coastal sand beaches, just over an hour. In general the local roads are quiet with little traffic. The N10 motorway connecting to Angouleme and Bordeaux is 10 kilometers away. The motorways are busier but not like British motorways. Mainline trains pass through Angouleme south to Bordeaux and north to Paris and Lille. There are several official cycle routes locally. Tillac Gites Terms & Conditions 1. The properties known as Fauvette, Souris and Alouette (the Property) are offered for holiday rental subject to confirmation by Stephen Wilson & Catherine Pindus (the Owners) to the renter (the Client). 2. To reserve the property the client should complete and sign the booking form and return it together with payment of the initial non-refundable deposit (20% of the total rent due). Following receipt of the booking form and deposit, the owner will send a confirmation invoice and statement. This is the formal acceptance of the booking. 3. The balance of the rent, including a refundable Damage Deposit of £250, is payable not less than six weeks before the start of the rental period. If payment is not received by the due date, the owners reserve the right to give notice in writing that the reservation is cancelled. Reservations made within six weeks of the start of the rental period require full payment at the time of booking. The client will remain liable to pay the balance of the rent unless the owners are able to re-let the property. The Damage Deposit will be returned via Electronic Funds Transfer within 7 days of departure of the client, subject to satisfactory inspection of the inventory and property. 4. Any chargeable expenses arising during the rental period should be settled with the owner before departure. 5. Subject to clauses 2 and 3 above , in the event of a cancellation , refunds of amounts paid will be made if the owner is able to re-let the property and any expenses or losses incurred in doing so will be deducted from the refundable amount. It is a requirement of booking that the client must arrange comprehensive travel insurance policy (including cancellation cover) and to have full cover for the party’s personal belongings, public liability etc since these are not covered by the owners insurance. 6. The rental period shall commence at 4:00pm on the first day and finish at 10:00am on the last day. The owner shall not be obliged to offer the accommodation before the time stated and the client shall not be entitled to remain in occupation after the time stated. 7. The maximum number to reside in the property must not exceed those booked. 8. The client agrees to be a considerate tenant and to take care of the property and to leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period. The client also agrees not to act in any way which would cause disturbance to fellow guests and nearby residents on neighbouring properties. We do not allow events, parties or loud music. 9. The use of the accommodation, facilities and amenities is strictly for the use of clients named on the booking form and staying in the accommodation and is entirely at the client’s risk. Visits/stays by non-paying guests is not allowed at any time. No responsibility can be accepted by the owner for any loss or damage to the client. 10. The client shall report to the owner without delay any defects in the property or breakdown in the equipment, plant, machinery or appliances in the property, garden or swimming pool so that arrangements for repair and/or replacement can be made as soon as possible. 11. The owner shall not be liable to the client: (Website hidden by Airbnb) For any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the property, nor in respect of any equipment, plant (Website hidden by Airbnb) machinery or appliance in the property, garden or swimming pool. (Website hidden by Airbnb) For any loss, damage or injury which is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strike or other scenarios beyond the control of the owner. (Website hidden by Airbnb) For any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the client if the property shall be destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period and in any such event, the owner shall, within seven days of notification to the client, refund to the client all sums previously paid in respect of the rental period (Website hidden by Airbnb) 12. Under no circumstances shall the owner’s liability to the client exceed the amount paid to the owner for the rental period. 13. The owner has no wish to have dissatisfied clients and considers it part of contract to be given the opportunity to put right any complaints the client may have. In the unlikely event that the client needs to complain, he or she should bring the complaint to the owner so that she/he has the opportunity to address the matter during the stay. The owner cannot accept complaints made after the client has returned home if she/he has not been given the opportunity to put matters right during the client’s stay. ** Failure to adhere to the T&C’s may result in the guest being asked to leave before their scheduled departure date and time
