The Snug

The Snug is a cosy, private, comfortable and peaceful room, boasting a brand new bathroom ensuite with a good shower, heated towel rail and underfloor heating. Both rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed linen and towels are 100% laundered cotton. The space is within the main house, but it has its own entrance and cloakroom leading firstly into the bathroom and then the bedroom. In the same establishment we operate two rooms. The Snug and The Barn. A corridor leads to the ensuite and then into the bedroom. The house lies just off the A591 in the small village of Ings . 2 miles from Lake Windermere . The surrounding countryside offers endless peaceful walks and there are many cycle routes to take you further into the Lakes or just a hop over the hill takes you into the beautiful Kentmere valley . There is an award winning pub, The Watermill ,in the village with its own brewery . Across the road is Ambio cafe , great for breakfast . Or a short drive into the village of Staveley where you will find artisan bakers and coffee shops and a great bike shop . The beauty of living in Ings for me is that you have all the delights of the Lake District without the crowds . We have two Mountain Bikes for Hire. The bikes are £25 each for the day. We will provide a helmet and small rucksack with pump, lock and spare tube. Bus Information The main bus route passes the house it runs approximately every half an hour. Steve is also a Open water swim guide. If you would like a dip in a tarn or lake, we can arrange a swim. £50 for a single swimmer or £75 for a couple. Wetsuits are available depending on size. We have mountains bikes, wetsuits and stand up paddle boards for hire.
