Soak up the history, visit the historic sites or just wile away the time, reading, walking, cycling or observing the stunning wildlife. "The Lodge" is located well off the road free from noise surrounded by clusters of trees with extensive views overlooking a valley and fields fields below with a scattering of farm animals and wildlife. The lodge has been designed as a getaway for those looking to escape the noise and hustle & bustle of city life where you can enjoy the fresh mountain air, views and crystal clear night skys or explore the forests or historic atractions within easy reach. Your hosts Dorothy and Ray Garrett are in residence in the main farmhouse most days and would be delighted to show you around and share a cup of tea or coffee. Your cottage is just 2.5 km from the Hampton Halfway Hotel where country style meals are available most hours as well all the trimmings you expect from a country Inn. or travel to Harley, Oberon or Lithgow for restaurants and clubs a modest drive away. You can cycle the traffic free roadways for tens of kms, walk through the forest, collect mushrooms or fish for trout in the Fish river , Oberon Dam or Lake Lyle. Ski on the lake or sail on Lake Wallace or travel to Bathurst for the motor racing events or just put your feet up.
