Domaine de Bellevue
Situated at 15 km from Kandy on the foothills of Hunasgiria mountain, Domaine de Bellevue faces a wonderful panorama and is blessed with a mild climate. As it was a tea and spices plantation, you can still see clove, pepper and cinnamon trees. The domain is surrounded by a natural reserve where numerous species live, such as deers, porcupines, monkeys, wild cats, reptiles and birds. Higher in the mountain live some leopards. The bungalow, at the edge of the jungle, consists of a room, a bathroom and a large veranda. It is modern and built on the European style. A family with two young children can be lodged. To access to the house and to the bungalow, you have to drive up among the clove and pepper trees for around 200 m. Laure and Valerian Fernando, a Sri Lankan-Swiss couple with three children, welcome you in French,Spanish,English,German,Sinhala and Tamil. If you order in advance, you can taste pizzas cooked on firewood and French or Asian dishes for dinner. As well, they can advise you to plan the next steps of your trip in Sri Lanka or organise airport drop or pick up services. They can also organise guided trekking for the experienced and the inexperienced walkers with our local guide in the Knuckles and to make discover interesting spots around the area.
