11th Century remodeled house, located in an ancient roman road, at a 3 min. car drive from the city center and its main attractions [[Praça de S. Tiago, Largo da Oliveira, Castelo, ..] and just 1 min. car drive away from the Multiusos Pavillion and its events. Located in a quiet neighbourhood, served by the main city lines, the house has three floors, private garage and all basic commodities. Perfect for families, children and groups. Located in an ancient roman road that in times was part of the "Caminos de Santiago" [Pilgrimage of Compostela], the house is only a 3 min. drive away from the Guimarães Historical Center [UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001] and its main attractions [Castelo de Guimarães, Paço dos Duques de Bragança, Largo da Oliveira, Praça de S. Tiago], as well as of the Toural Square, Vila Flor Cultural Center and the Platform for Arts and Creativity, some of the main venues of the 2012 European Capital of Culture celebrations. The house has three floors [main floor, first floor and attick] and has can host 9 guests, including children of all ages. It has four bedrooms [one suite with double bed, one double bed room and two twin bed rooms], three bathrooms and a living room with a fireplace and a sofa that can be used as an extra bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, microwaves, fridge, dishwasher and kitchenware. You will also find washing machine, iron and ironboard. The house is equipped with free Internet and WiFi connection and cable TV [two TVs, one in the main floor and the other in the attick]. There is also private garage with direct access to the house, making it the ideal housing for car travellers. However, the street where the house is located is served by the main bus city lines, with buses stopping every 15 min. on week days. It's a quiet neigbourhood, with restaurants, bakeries, grocery shops and farmacies nearby. The Bus and Train Stations are only at a 5 min. car distance away. Full access to the house. Guimarães is located at aprox. a 40 min. car ride from Porto Airport. It is a city whose roots date back to the 10th century, one of the oldest in Portugal. Known as the "Cradle of Portugal", its Historic Center was classified by UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage site in 2001. It was also European Capital of Culture in 2012 and European Capital of Sport in 2013. Besides its main attractions [Castelo de Guimarães, Paço dos Duques de Bragança, Largo da Oliveira, Praça de S. Tiago, Montanha e Santuário da Penha, Plataforma das Artes e da Criatividade, Centro Cultural Vila Flor, etc.] it's location provides the perfect HQ to visit other important cities in North Portugal, such as Porto [60 km], Braga [15 km] or Viana do Castelo [60 km]. You may also visit the National Park of Peneda and Gerês [50 km] or the Douro Region [70 km]. Wonderful beaches and surfing sites may be found within a 40 min. ride in Esposende, Viana do Castelo and Matosinhos. > Since 2015 Portugal has more strictly enforced a long-standing law requiring anyone providing paid holiday accommodation to record the entry, exit, and identification details of all non-Portuguese nationals who use that accommodation. This law has been brought into force in Portugal and most other EU countries at some point since the gradual implementation of the 1990 Schengen Agreement that aims to stop human trafficking and other illegal practices. In this case, it is specifically Article 45 of the Schengen Agreement and the recent Alojamento Local law in Portugal that has brought this rule into sharper focus.For this reason, all guests of every reservation need to show their passports, so we can collect the required information.
