My cottage is the perfect destination for those wanting to explore the Mendip Hills, either on foot or by bicycle. Walking distance from the gorge itself, it is ideally situated for a little pootle with coffee, or a full day of exploring. For those seeking a bit more, Cheddar Gorge is a mecca for climbers, offering over 1000 different routes from easy scrambles to multi-pitch climbs. For a longer day trip out, you can walk/cycle almost off-road from the front door right up to Beacon Batch Two main living areas downstairs, the kitchen and living room. both were newly refurbished in 2020. The living area includes amazing inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove, TV and good sound system, with a dining table and chairs as well. The garden is south-facing, with a sheltered sun-trap patio area, perfect for BBQ and fire-pit in the summer. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms and an office, only one bedroom of which I am currently using for Airbnb. With special arrangements use of the master bedroom can be accommodated. One family bathroom with shower/bath, excellent water pressure and views out to the hills and gorge The cottage fronts on to a public park which is great for kids and grown ups for ball games, or to start your journey up into the hills. You will have access to the entire living area downstairs, garden/drive and then bathroom and your guest room upstairs. I will not be present when guests are staying, unless I am around when checking in. If I am not there the keys will be left in a safe place and I will be contactable by mobile phone or email. My bedroom is the only room unavailable during the stay, unless arranged prior to stay, please respect this rule and my privacy. It is a really peaceful place to live. It is great being next to the park and I love being so close to the gorge and able to walk or cycle up to the hills so easily. I feel very lucky to live here. The best way to get around outside of Cheddar is by car if you're exploring further afield, or want to get to the other side of the Mendips more easily. The cottage is pretty easy to work your way around. If you would like more in-depth advice on how to get up to the hills by car oron foot/bicycle then please let me know and I can provide some local knowledge. For climbers, I can provide a guidebook for Cheddar Gorge and surrounding areas (Avon and Fairy Cave) for a small refundable deposit. For mountain bikers I can provide more details of good routes which encompass some technical trails or fore tracks depending on skill level. For walkers I can give advice on some nice routes of varying lengths
