We welcome you in to the Sainj Valley .We are located in Ropa (opposite the GHNP Forest Rest House). We live by the Sainj RIver's stream and know our valley like no one else. Just 8 km from Sainj main market, our home is overlooked by the mountains and deep deodar forests. We can help you get tents in case you want to stay in the forest – it’s totally safe! Most of the food items are from our organic farm. (It’s a very simple and ordinary place and you should not expect any sort of luxury) This place is just an easy hike down from a motor-able road. Ours is a Traditional Himachali Home. Although it is made of bricks and cement, the inside of the house would take you deep into the village living of Kulluvi tradition and culture. We have set up a room for our guests that can accommodate 2 people. Don’t worry, the room has got all the basic and cozy amenities. Besides, the living room of our home is the common seating area that will expose you to a serious dose of photogenic mountain views of the Great Himalayan National Park. We sit here and watch the days pass by while the seasons change but mountains! We share a common washroom having both. The Sainj River nourishes our farms as well us us. Guests can use the common space, can visit our farm and choose the vegetable of their choice. We will provide you with all kind of vegetarian -- Indian cuisine and authentic Himachali cuisine. (Non-veg can be provided on demand) We are simply ordinary villagers and we would love to have some guests in our village, though very few people know about the place The neighborhood of our home is actually an institution. You get to learn the functioning of a typical mountain village which, till today, works on barter system. We also have a museum nearby, actually not near by but on the top of the mountain where you get to see some of the most antique possessions of a local resident. From Delhi many Bus are available.Take any bus which is going to Manali. Get down at Aut market. From Aut you can easily get public transport as well as taxi to Ropa forest complex. You can also ask for taxi since we have our own car. We serve what we eat. Usually we eat together – our dinner, lunch and breakfasts are the food that any Himachali home would prepare for them. So, if we prepare the most authentic ‘Siddu’ stuffed with apricot paste and dip it in a bowl of ghee to eat, you can have the same too. But most of the times, the food is vegetarian. However, you can ask us to get you the meat or alcoholic beverages. You would, of course, have to pay for them. Well, we got Chai for you! Must Try: Rajma-Chawal, Kachaaloo ki Sabzi / Kadhi, Daal Chana, Aaloo Paranthay, Pathooray Look out For: Siddu, Lingri ki Raita/ Achar, Braar Ki Sherbat (Himalayan Rhododendron’s Juice), Mithay Chawal (Sweet Rice), Apricots – Sausages (Chatni), Golden Apples We are located amidst valleys brimming with dense forests. Network usually works fine with Airtel. However, during severe rains, the roads might become an issue.
