Village home in Jaffna - Amazing Grace A simple village house on an acre of land with coconut and mango trees with open front and rear verandahs. Two large bedrooms with en-suites offers space for two queen beds in one and two four poster King Single beds in the other with the ability to sleep 6 - 8 persons. A fully functional kitchen is complemented with a Thinnai. The courtyard which once made village company and conversation delightful continues to be the best spot in the house. A generational blessing – this is our grandparents’ home built by grandfather in the village of Irupalai, 2km from Nallur temple. The house has been restored to its original plan. A simple village house on an acre of land with coconut and mango trees welcomes all with open front and rear verandahs. A lounge in the middle offers quiet privacy. Two large bedrooms with en-suites on either wing of the house offers space for two queen beds in one and two four poster King Single beds in the other with the ability to sleep 6 - 8 persons. The main arterial runs through a fully functional kitchen with a four-burner gas stove, an electric oven and all amenities including an Ammi - grinding stone. It is complemented with a Thinnai, the pavilion for the village helping hands, cooks and housekeepers. This is connected with a covered walkway towards the well. The courtyard which once made village company and conversation delightful continues to be the best spot in the house. Fresh cotton linen will be provided. Ample parking. A night watchman will be on site from 8pm to 6am. Two fabulous live-in cooks who had worked for the family are available if required. Rates will be provided on request. Their authentic Jaffna style cuisine is highly recommended. A blessed home whose blessings are to be shared with the village. We call it Amazing Grace. I will be available via email, phone, and text. The village has lots of temples surrounding the property. You will hear the temple bells early in the mornings and at dusk. Guests can enjoy a tranquil environment without the hustle and bustle of city life. A short stroll down the lane leads you to paddy fields where you can see the local farmers at work. Best way to get to our home is by car or a Tuk tuk. The home is approximately 5 mins on the Irupalai-Kaithady road from Irupalai junction on Point Pedro road. Further detailed directions will be provided on request. There is a caretaker for the property. Contact numbers will be provided on confirmation of booking. 2 cooks come highly recommended. Honest, hardworking ladies who have been with our family for many years and are excellent cooks who can provide authentic Jaffna cuisine. If guests require cooks, they can be arranged. Rates will be provided on request. The property also has a gardener who comes 3-4 times a week for general maintenance of the grounds of the property.
