Entire renovated 200 m2 Liberty Style villa (originally early 1900) in property of totally 2 houses in a finely planted 4000 m2 park with outdoor (magnesium mineral) swimming pool and beautiful view on Italian and Swiss Alps incl Monte Rosa. House is on 2 floors with various terraces and balconies; ideally for family upto 6 persons with 3 bedrooms. Optimal position to visit the region of the lakes; Prealps; Milan etc. Ground floor: entrance; fully equipped kitchen with dining table; living room; library room and 2 terraces with outdoor dining area. Good WIFI coverage. First floor: three double bedrooms (two with double beds and one room with two single beds); large bathroom with toilet, bidet, shower and (hydro sonic) bath; small bathroom with toilet and bidet; two larger and two smaller balconies. The 4000 m2 park with (magnesium mineral) swimming pool is shared with another house. On the property two friendly middle sized dogs and 1 cat are present also to entertain the guests. Host and co-host are living close by and fully available for check-in and further support during the stay. Cittiglio is about 4 km from Laveno and on the rail track connecting to Varese (25 min) and Milan (1hour 20 min); train station approximately 1.5 km from Rien’s place. Cittiglio lies 20 km. from the swiss border, and Lugano station with express trains to Zurich; Malpensa airport is about 35 km drive. Milan centre is about 60 km; Como 34 km and Varese city 15 km away. Laveno is halfway on the Lombard coast of the Lake Maggiore. It is an optimal place to visit the region of the lakes and the Prealps. Its also easy to get to Geneva by taking the ferry in Laveno to Intra/Verbania. Every 20 min. a ferryboat connects the lombard coast of the lake with the piedmontese coast (Verbania), the Borromeo Islands, Stresa and the Verbania station, which has express trains to Geneva. The region, rich in art and history, offers countless ways to admire the gifts of the past: the medieval castles, the villas of the XVII century, the botanic gardens, the old mountain villages entirely made of stone, the noble palaces, the romanic monasteries and the baroque Sacro Monte Sanctuaries, protected by the UNESCO. There are numerous possibilities to bath in clean waters and to practise sports: hang-gliding, para-gliding, cycling, mountain bike, trekking, sailing and all the water sports, tennis. On the property two friendly middle sized dogs (Epagneul Breton) are present and used to move freely in the park. Since we are bordering a wood area rich in flora and fauna, they also ensure deer, wild boar and other animals stay outside the fenced park. The dogs are fully aware not to enter the house. The swimming pool and surrounding area are mainly for the exclusive use of the guests. The host sporadically enjoys the swimming pool when not in use by the guests. Bed linens and towels, including swimming pool towels, are supplied.
