Quiet, tranquil retreat with seasonally heated swimming pool, beautiful gardens, rural views all the way to the sea, but only a minute from SH1, 40 mins from Auckland's CBD and 6 mins to Warkworth so close to all the region has to offer: Matakana wine trail and its market, beaches, Puhoi village, bush walks and so much more. This spacious bedroom has a brand new, firm mattress with quality linen and an intimate private balcony with rural views. A delightful place to getaway for the weekend. Decorated in the English country cottage style along with bed linen and towels are of very high quality giving you that pampered feeling you deserve. The mattress is a brand new, firm orthopaedic one for those who like to be well supported while they sleep. The private, intimate balcony is perfect for catching the sun's rays early in the day. You will be able to access the common areas of the lounge, living room, outside patio and of course the pool with its refreshing salt water (i.e. low chlorine) but please be aware the pool is only heated during the summer months. We will be available throughout your stay with tips and advice about the area: what to see and where to go. There is so much to see and do in this delightful part of the country: the Matakana wine trail (with its many world class wineries) is a must as is the colourful market at Matakana village on Saturday morning. There is fun bike trail from Matakana to Omaha, passing a few of the wineries en route. The historic village of Puhoi has a fascinating little museum as well as the iconic Puhoi pub frequented by locals as well as visitors. The Honey Centre is charming and educational and has its own little café. The township of Warkworth is just 6 minutes way with plenty of eateries, including the newly renovated Warkworth Hotel right in the heart of the settlement. There are several beaches just a short drive away for all things to do with watersports as well as bushwalks including the Moirs Hill walkway to the charming Pohuehue waterfall. There is very limited public transport in the area so to see the region at your chosen pace it is essential to have your own transport.
