Our delightful 3-roomed cottage is equipped with everything you need for a weekend break, to a week away. The house can cater for 3 adults comfortably, we can add two extra camp beds upon request. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and comfortable beds. Innisfree provides a secluded, private and relaxing getaway. We are a working farm and nature refuge, and may need to come to tend things during your stay. When possible we will let you know. The 150 acre property is located at the end of a quiet country lane, surrounded by farms and rainforest. Much of the space is dedicated nature reserve (this means pets are not allowed). There is a beautiful creek running through the middle of the property perfect for swimming and rock hopping. A large lake containing platypus and turtles and a private waterfall. We have six cows who enjoy attention, two ducks (who love to be fed), in addition to the unique local wildlife. The space is peaceful and private with no neighbours to be seen or heard. At times we may be staying in a property on the other side of the paddock, but we will let you know if that is the case. To maximise your stay on our secluded property you may wish to bring your own supplies and make use of the well equipped kitchen. Don't forget your nespresso style coffee pods for the bench top machine. This is a high rainfall area so also remember sturdy walking shoes or gumboots and a raincoat to take advantage of the many hiking trails. We are close to the historic market towns of Malanda and Yungaburra. The beautiful Milla Milla waterfall circuit is a short drive away. Once you enter the property, the rest is up to you! You have free access to explore all areas although please stay out of the cow paddocks and keep gates closed. Please also keep to marked trails to avoid damaging the local ecosystem. If you encounter local wildlife such as Cassowaries and Tree Kangaroos, do not try to approach or feed them. We value your privacy and will have everything setup ready for your stay. Any questions can be phoned or messaged and we are always ready with a prompt reply. While the property does not have mobile phone reception there is a broadband internet connection and free wifi to allow contact with the outside world. Explore Innisfree’s hiking trails, crystal clear rivers, and luscious rainforest before coming back to the tiny house overlooking the beautiful lawns and lakes. Be ready to swim in the gorgeous lake, have a paddle in the kayaks or sit and watch the platypus and turtles, going about their busy lives. This pristine environment is home to several endangered native animals including the ever-elusive tree kangaroos and cassowaries, along with bright green tree frogs, all of which can be observed in an early morning hike or looking out of the window with a glass of bubbles. There are many places to picnic and swim, take your time and explore them all. Follow us on (Hidden by Airbnb) (Website hidden by Airbnb) A beautiful, scenic and unspoilt, undulating tableland between 500 and (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) metres above the coast and Great Barrier Reef, perfect for self-driving tours, the Atherton Tablelands will not disappoint. With stops along the way such as The curtain fig tree, or the Waterfall circuit, the Atherton Tablelands must not be missed. The quaint country town of Malanda, boasting a movie theatre, historic Pub, monthly markets and a small convenience store is the closest to the property, and can easily provide for all needs during your stay. A short drive from Malanda takes you to Yungaburra which has monthly markets and small shops, perfect for gifts or souvenirs. Your own car is essential, with no reliable public transport access to the property. Additional sights to see include the crater lakes Eacham and Barrine. The small town of Millaa Millaa with its waterfalls is only ten minutes away and the ploughman’s lunch nearby at Mungali Creek dairy is always fantastic.
