Hortensia is an enchanting country retreat on 20 acres nestled in the Wombat State Forest, 6 minute drive from Trentham. The charming solid brick home is surrounded by a stunning garden and two magnificent water lily filled lakes. The house has three bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. The large lounge/dining room has a solid fuel heater (wood is provided) and the galley style kitchen has a dishwasher and servery. A barbeque with gas is also provided. The sun porch provides the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee first thing in the morning or a relaxing glass of wine at sunset. The garden was designed by a botanist over 40 years ago and has developed into a lush canvas of species thriving amongst natural springs and two lakes resplendent with water lilies. It attracts a myriad of bird life including kookaburras and blue wrens. You will enjoy the natural peace and quiet of a country location but still within a short drive to some great eating spots. Other than the sheds which will be locked, guests have free access to the entire property. It is a delight to walk particularly at dusk when the kangaroos invade the lower paddocks. Bronwyn and Sam are available on (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) at any time during the stay. They will escort the guests to the property and show them around at the outset if required. There is no public transport option, a car is required to access the location. However there are a multitude of great little towns within a short drive, including Trentham, Kyneton, Woodend, Daylesford and Mt Macedon. The property is located down a well maintained dirt road, a 4WD is not required. The house is surrounded by the Wombat State Forest.
