Hetherington Downs - A quiet private place to stay

Jose` and Neil welcome you to Hetherington Downs, their quiet 42 acre North Waikato rural property, set well away from the road, and with magnificent views over Lake Waahi and beyond. It has a detached, 10m x 3m self contained cabin, with a 10m x 3m deck. It is very suitable for a couple, but also has a pull out double sofa bed for your use if required. The cabin was new in June 2017, and has only recently been set up for guests. It is a quiet space, and as such, no TV or Wifi is provided. In the cabin, the kitchen contains all the necessities, pots, electric frying pan, hot plates, oven, fridge/freezer and all required crockery and cutlery. There are also a few essentials, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, salt/pepper and cooking oil. You have Huntly Countdown supermarket only a 6 minute drive away for any further food requirements. It is a quiet space to get away from devices, and as such, no TV or Wifi is provided by us. We can supply continental breakfast, if requested, for an extra cost of $10/person. Please message us 24 hours before check-in if you require breakfast. A washing machine is available in the cabin for your private use also ( own washing powder required ). We are centrally located between the cities of Hamilton and Auckland, and have the towns of Huntly and Te Kauwhata nearby. Auckland International Airport is 1 hour drive by car, depending on traffic flows in Auckland. Raglan is also handy, a nice drive and a great place to visit. There is plenty of space to park larger vehicles and/or trailers safely on the property if required (near diesel tank). Our cabin is just over 2.5 km from the Te Araroa trail so could be a comfortable bed for a night out of the tent. You can arrange to be picked up, and dropped off again the next day, back on the trail, if we receive suitable notice. You are most welcome to walk around our small farm. There is a map showing all boundaries etc enclosed in the House Manual in the cabin. Please adhere to all usual Health and Safety rules which apply to all working farms. If you are interested in a longer term stay, we ask that you come out to view the cabin before booking, to see that it will be suitable for all your needs. Full access to cabin, deck and surrounds. We respect your privacy, and with the cabin over 100m from our home, you can expect a quiet peaceful stay. Check-in is by key safe, so you do not need to make contact with us on your arrival. Please just place the key back in the key safe on your departure. We can be contacted quickly if required. With the motorsport hubs of Hampton Downs, Huntly Speedway & Meremere Dragway nearby, and watersports/diver training at Lake Puketirini, there are many options for your entertainment. The Base shopping centre in Te Rapa is less than 30 minutes south. There are also great sports venues in Hamilton for cricket and rugby. You have a large variety of fast food outlets in Huntly, and the Rangiriri Hotel in Rangiriri and the Essex Arms in Huntly both provide great meals. No public transport available. Please do not enter tractor shed/workshop, and assume any wire fences around property are electric at all times!
