A good stopover place. The unit is self-contained, quiet and private with continental breakfast ingredients provided. It has an ensuite bathroom and kitchenette area Our place is close to the Waikato Expressway, 7 mins from Hampton Downs, 30 mins to Hamilton & Thames and less than 1 hour to Auckland off peak. We share our place with our two cats Muffin and Crosbie, 2 Alpacas _Levi and Diego and six hens who lay lovely eggs. If the hens are laying you may get fresh farm eggs for breakfast. In the summer you are welcome to swim in our small lap pool, wander around our garden or go for a walk in the countryside. The beautiful Waikare golf course is close by and welcomes green fee players. The bedsit is quite self contained and separate from the main house. Continental breakfast ingredients supplied. Kitchen contains microwave, frig, toaster and electric jug. No oven , cooktop or pots and pans. Our garden and pool are available to guests to enjoy. Your unit is a compact one room self-contained bedsit with kitchenette and ensuite bathroom, separate from our house. A microwave, electric jug and toaster are provided. Please note we have wifi in our house and a wifi extender services the unit. We will usually be on site in the house for assistance if required. Te Kauwhata is a small country village with a hotel which serves meals plus three cafes. There is a supermarket, petrol station, doctor, chemist and hairdresser plus other shops and services. Hamilton is about 40 mins south and Auckland 1 hour north on the Expressway. Raglan, Thames and the Coromandel beaches about 1 hour also. Check the Hamilton & Waikato website for lots of great ideas for things to do and places to go. Rangiriri which serves great country meals at the hotel is just 5 minutes south and Huntly with the Hakarimata walkway, lakes and steam train is 15 minutes drive. Nikau caves and café are 40 minutes drive west to this spectacular natural feature. Bookings required for cave trip. Lakes Waikare and Whangape are close by as is the Waikato River for walks, drives and aquatic activities. Hampton Downs motor racing track is 7 mins away by car. We have secure parking on site with plenty of room for vehicles, bikes and trailers if required. No charge for parking. There is minimal public transport in Te Kauwhata. Please note the kitchenette does not contain an oven or stovetop with pots and pans. It does have a kitchen bench and sink with a microwave, toaster and jug. Microwave dishes are in the cupboard with the plates, cups, glasses and cutlery. The frig is small with an icebox. Sometimes you can hear the trains passing by in the night about 1 km away.
