The Green Shed
The Green Shed is in an 80 acre wildlife sanctuary on the edge of the rainforest in the Byron hinterland. Wallabies graze the lawn and the bird & cicada chorus at dawn/dusk is just magical. The Green Shed is a small, simple but stylish studio setup, with an outdoor shower, access to a beautiful creek for cooling daytime dips & expansive views across the rainforest. Staying here is about emersing yourself in nature...kicking back and relaxing. Eat from our vegetable garden and fruit orchards. Honey from our bees. Fresh eggs daily from our chooks. The Green Shed is on the same property as (but very private from) our family home, so we are available if any queries arise. Byron Bay became a popular holiday destination in the 70's focusing on a laid back beachside surf scene, and alternative culture. The last 40 years has seen Byron itself grown into more of a family holiday destination with outstanding beaches, cafes, restaurants and water based activities. Mostly, 'the locals' live in the outlying areas (the hinterland) which buzzes with creativity, and with the spirit of Australia at its core, has attracted residents from all over the world. The Green House is just outside a small village called Goonengerry right in the heart of the hinterland. Goonengerry is 5 mins from Federal and the fabulous Doma cafe and 30 mins from Byron Bay, where the rolling 'Mr Men' hills meet the wilderness of the rainforest. The famous Minyon Falls are also just 5 mins down the road, and there is easy access to Lismore, Mullumbimby and the rest of the Rainbow Region. You will need a car to get to our property. Not suitable for more than 1-2 guests.
