Hattersley - Historic Cottage

Totally unique! This gracious old lady transports you to another time. She is in need of some TLC after all of these years, but while we tend her we are offering this exclusive accomodation at very reasonable rates. This Victorian Art Nouveau styled federation cottage was built around 1910, one of the oldest houses in the area. It comprises 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed as shown in pictures, one with two singles. The north facing verandah provides a great place to enjoy Grafton's mild winter days in the quiet and peaceful street and often has cooling breezes in summer. The interior is not yet fully renovated, The walls and ceilings are all of ornate pressed metal, mostly in need of painting. There is some flaking paint and bare metal in places. We'll get to it but the exterior is a higher priority at present. The wide timber floorboards have gaps but are all sound and polished. The kitchen and bathroom are quirky 70's DIY additions as shown in pictures which will be replaced as part of the renovation but are functional at present. For lovers of period detail and character, this home has these in abundance. Guests have sole access to the whole house, two bedrooms, lounge, bathroom, kitchen, dining, laundry. Parking is off street in the driveway at the front of the house . The back shed is locked and off-limits. We are sometimes around watering and tending the garden or the house next door, but guests have their privacy Louise lives in Grafton and can assist with any issues. The house is in a quiet peaceful surburban street in South Grafton. The Clarence Valley is a beautiful area with many stunning day trips to enjoy. The house is walking distance to local shops etc, train station and car hire. A car is the easiest way to enjoy he many beautiful daytrips. As stated, the house is undergoing restoration.
