The Cockatoo, The Nest at Gundaroo

The Nest at Gundaroo is a family-owned small business providing luxury, short-stay accommodation, only a 30 minute drive from Canberra's CBD. Opened in December 2015 and with a focus on great service, we are perfect for quiet weekends, the traveller, personal or family celebrations and more. The Cockatoo is very popular as it is luxurious, spacious, romantic and secluded. Full disability access and suitable for wheelchair or person with reduced mobility. Parking at the door. There is verandah and also a day bed suitable for a child or young teen. The Nest at Gundaroo consists of 5 newly-built self-contained villas, along with a heritage-listed cottage. Located on the quiet main-street of the historic village of Gundaroo, there are many eateries within a 2 block walk, in addition to the surrounding region's wineries. Parking is free. Two breakfast options are complimentary (a continental or a cook-your-own breakfast of bacon and eggs). Our villas are private, luxurious and a place for you to relax. You can always contact us by phone or text, even if we are not on site 24/7. We are close by however and can be on site within 5-10 minutes if need be. Cork Street is heritage listed and Gundaroo enjoys 3 historic churches and many buildings from the late 1800's. With a wonderful pub, superb pizzeria, great local store and take-away, as well as Grazing, Gundog Cellar Door and many local wineries, Gundaroo is rich with culture and food/wine, and just a stone's throw from Canberra.
