Chinook Boatshed
Cosy boat shed on waterfront, facing west to Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park. Loft double bed, heater, electric blanket, fridge, toaster/griller, 7-way cooker, electric jug, wall fan, microwave and sink. Outside cold shower, bathroom in house. Kayaks, wood BBQ, pizza oven, portable gas bbq. Easy access to Pittwater and the National Park for walking, swimming, snorkelling, fishing, kayaking. Unique location on the waterfront. Water lapping just outside the door and no adjoining buildings. Perfect for people who have their own boat as you can tie up on our jetty. You can also kayak to our beach from anywhere in Pittwater. Water taxi ($24) will drop you to our jetty or catch the ferry to Bells Wharf ($8.20) and walk around the waterfront for a few minutes. The boatshed will be unlocked, with the key on the inside of the door. The downstairs bathroom inside the house is available for exclusive use. Walk up the steps or use the inclinator, enter by the front door and second room on left. A torch is provided but I will also leave some lights on - outside and in the bathroom. I like to leave people to enjoy themselves but am happy to answer any questions and have a chat. Beautiful, peaceful location for people who love being on the water. There are a number of restaurants on the mainland nearby: Church Point waterfront cafe. The Co-op Club has quality live music every Sunday from 3.30 to 6.30 pm; The Quays marina restaurant at Bayview; The Blue Pearl at Gibson’s marina, Bayview; 8 Knots cafe at Gibson’s marina; The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club at Newport; The Royal Motor Yacht Club at Newport; The Newport (hotel). You can purchase supplies at ‘Pantry and Fresh’ or ‘the Waterfront Store’, Church Point You can kayak there during the day or take a water taxi at night. Bring fishing gear and use our pump to get your own live yabbies for bait. There are many spots to pump for yabbies around the island. 156 Buses run to Church Point from Mona Vale on a regular basis. You can also book a trip with Keoride - it is like Uber but is government supported. It runs from the B- line bus stop at Mona Vale to Church Point and in the reverse direction. It is very cheap - $1.50 per person. Car parking may be difficult at weekends. There is paid parking in the Church Point Car Park. Much better to park before Church Point, eg Riddle Reserve on Pittwater Rd., and catch the bus or walk to Church Point. Ferries from Church Point run hourly to the island. Water taxis ($24) are also available on an on-call basis - number is at Church point. They stop around 9.00pm. If you cannot get a water taxi, just flag down a local and ask for a ride. Guests can walk up past our house to the road to go for an island walk or use the kayaks and SUP on the side of the boatshed for free.
