Big house near Maubourguet/Marciac with pool

Just outside Maubourguet (10 mins from Marciac) This three storey 'Maison De Maitre' is ideally located for the Marciac Jazz Festival or the Pyrenees. This charming, large, stylishly decorated house easily accommodates up to eight adults (four large double bedrooms) plus extra single rooms and extra fold up beds for children. There is an unheated pool for guests to use. People who love the idea of traditional french rustic charm will love La Maison Blanche. With big open fires and huge rooms - each one decorated with quirky touches. There are four double bedrooms and then two interconnecting single rooms (which are perfect for kids). The kitchen is huge and fully equipped in a french farmhouse style. The outside space is huge and we have a barn with table tennis and a fleet of bicycles for guest use. There is one bathroom and one shower room. You can also use our grand dining room and large, comfy, sitting room with open fire. The entire house save for a room locked off containing our stuff! You can have use of our bikes, our table tennis table, table football etc. The kitchen comes with dishwasher, fridge-freezer, wine fridge and large range cooker. Plus all cooking utensils etc travel cot and high chair available We won't be there at all but have an local person who can come and give you the key on arrival. Gensac is a tiny village in the Haute Pyrenees. It is inbetween two larger villages of Maubourguet and Vic en Bigorre. It equals total relaxation and getting away from it all. Great food, great wine and nothing much to do except visit local markets and read books or play games or swim in summer. It is fifteen minutes drive to Marciac which plays host to an annual jazz festival and is just an hours drive to the Pyrenees if walking or cycling is your passion. Only 45 minutes from picturesque Pau. As well as the onsite pool, there are several lakes and larger swimming pools nearby which open in July and August. Not really you will need a car - or a bike! It is a very very old house and it IS full of character and charm and with loads of space for you to be here in a group and still not feel in top of each other. There are a few quirks which come with a property of this age but many just add to the charm. If you are considering visiting in the winter, please bear in mind that this is a large old house and even with our large fireplaces, wood fired central heating and gas heaters, you will need to dress warmly! You can also ski at many resorts in the Pyrenees - Hautacam is just an hour away and other larger resorts around an hour and a half. Not really you will need a car - or a bike! It is also a very very old house and with that does come a slightly rambling nature but it IS full of character and charm and with loads of space for you to be here in a group and still not feel in top of each other. As a large old house it is very difficult for us to keep it dust free, even with extensive regular cleaning. The pool is not heated.
