Bay Cottage
A character, Grade II listed, thatched cottage situated in the beautiful, rural village of Stoke Abbott with an award winning pub serving delicious food. A family home furnished with personal furniture and belongings, so please don't expect IKEA style deco etc! 12 miles from the Jurassic Coast, the area provides an endless choice of scenic walks. The property has its own private drive (off road parking) and a mature garden with an enclosed paddock descending to a stream. Accommodation includes a ground floor en-suite double bedroom. Please note, the room with 2 single beds includes 1 day bed and 1 trundle bed. Large inglenook open fire. A complimentary basket of firewood is provided. Additional firewood upon request will be charged £8/basket. Patio. Outdoor dining set with parasol. Gas BBQ. Please note that the cleaning service has no time to clean it, so we really appreciate that the guests clean it up after use. Off road parking. WiFi. Oil fired Aga, electric hob and oven, small freezer. Heated towel rails. TV, DVD player. Bluetooth speaker. A travel cot is available upon request, but need to bring bedding. Land line for local calls only (no charge). Very limited mobile signal in the village plus unfortunately no access to internet fibre optic resulting in poor internet service. Sorry, NO PETS and NO STAG or HEN PARTIES. The surrounding countryside has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This cottage has been a family home for 40 years. We have left the decor in keeping with our mixed family culture, meaning British with a Malaysian twist. Please don't expect a holiday let deco with light greys and white IKEA croquery etc as our family use the cottage too, so it's our home. Please treat our home and our personal belongings with respect. We hope you enjoy your stay in our home as much as we do. Cottage situated in a quiet, sleepy village therefore we do not accept guests who intend to party and cause late night disturbances for the neighborhood. Attractions and nearby amenities.
