Clean & Quiet Retreat. Your Home in Liverpool!
20 minutes from City Centre. (Also ideal for Anfield, Alder Hey hospital and Knowsley ) Safe parking is on the street immediately in front of the house. Best of both worlds! A comfortable room in a spacious, bright & quiet terraced house with garden, adjacent to large Country Park & stately home (Croxteth Hall), but under 25 minutes bus ride into the city centre. 10 minute walk from West Derby Village with its several pubs & small bistros. Huge supermarket & 2 takeaways around the corner. Double room in a mid-terraced house with garden on a quiet street, located in the suburb of West Derby, 10 minutes walk from West Derby Village. There is a bus stop in the street behind the house, with a bus every 10 minutes into the city centre. It takes about 22 minutes (15+ in cab or car) to get into the heart of town. The same bus route also takes you within easy walking distance of Anfield stadium. You'll have your own double room which contains a wardrobe space, and portable tv with a large selection of classic tv and movie dvds. Shared use of the adjoining bathroom upstairs, and a large shower room downstairs. Full and free use of the kitchen, living room and garden too. I keep well stocked with tea, coffee, bread and breakfast cereals, so just help yourself to breakfast.. Wifi broadband access. There's no dedicated parking space but you're free to do so on the street in front of the house. There's never been any problems. I'm here most of the time for anything you need, but am happy to make myself scarce doing my own thing about the house when I sense your eyes glaze over and the look of panic as you realize we have nothing to say to each other. haha. The house itself is located in a mostly residential area just outside the walls of the large Croxteth Country Park and Croxteth Hall...the picturesque Village entrance to the park, via St Mary's Church, is a 10 minute walk up the road past Liverpool FC's training ground of Melwood. The Stately home of Croxteth Hall itself, its garden and farm are open to the public. In West Derby Village you will find 3 pubs, the largest of which, The Sefton Arms, serves meals and appears highly rated online, and similarly popular coffee shop ("Amo") which provides light snacks, breakfast and lunch, plus a couple more small restauarant/bar/bistros...and also there is a post office/newsagent, butcher's shop, barber etc. More immediately there is a huge Tesco 3 minutes walk from the front door for most of your shopping needs, and a small number of shops - pharmacy, two takeaway outlets (a chinese takeaway/chip shop and a pizza/burger/kebab place) hairdresser - between here and there as well as the Deysbrook pub. My overseas guests who've been there have come back and reported how friendly and warm the welcome was. The bus stop to the city centre is literally 4 minutes stroll from the front door. The number 12 or 13 bus goes into the centre of town every 10 minutes or so. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes. By car, maybe 15-20 depending on time of day. Also a few minutes walking distance are the bus stops to take you to Knowsley industrial park if you're here for work reasons, and Whiston Hospital if you're here for a medical course (the latter takes 2 buses). Parking: the house is in a very quiet street and is in the centre of the street at the widest part, with a street lamp directly in front of the house. So parking there is very safe. As a frequent city break traveller myself I find I spend so much time going from one website to another trying to work out the practical details of getting from a to b (where is the bus? How do I buy a ticket? How do I know where to get off? Where is X in relation to the bus stop. How much is it?) that I'll try and provide you with as much of that as possible. If there's anything specific you want to do or see in Liverpool, let me know in advance, and whatever I don't know I'll find out for you.
