Stanford Old Mill Self catering is located in one of the oldest buildings in Stanford. Situated amidst a lush, secluded and private garden only a short stroll from Stanford’s Village Green, shops, many restaurants and interesting sites, the house can accommodate 4 people in 2 bedrooms and has 2 bathrooms. The house is fully equipped with everything you will need for short or long term stays. The Old Mill presents a unique opportunity to relax and soak in more than 200 years of Cape history. The main bedroom is downstairs and has a queen-size, extra length bed fitted with 100% cotton bedding. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, basin, toilet with cotton towels provided. A wooden staircase takes you up to a loft en-suite bedroom with 2 single beds. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, basin and toilet and all linen and towels are provided. The generous downstairs open-plan living and kitchen area boasts a comfortable sitting room with TV, 8-seater dining room table and chairs and is heated by a free-standing fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas hob and electric oven, spacious fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and coffee making facilities. On arrival, your hosts Barry and Adrienne Jones will greet and direct you into the property. Weave your way down the Mill driveway to the spacious secure, off-road parking area where you can unload safely and easily through the back kitchen door. Once settled in you can enjoy a peaceful sundowner on either of the vine and tree-shaded patios which face North and West with views of the Klein River mountains. The Old Mill garden includes a herb box on the stairs outside the back of the kitchen which are available for guest use. Fig, banana and citrus trees help shade and provide guests a tropical atmosphere for that peaceful well-needed respite. The Old Mill was renovated entirely of lime-stone, sandstone, local woods and materials and has been restored by a local craftsman who has exposed the two foot thick stone walls giving this house it's unique warmth and historic quality. The entire house is at the disposal of the guests. The owners live in another house at the other end of the property. There are small friendly dogs on the property but they do not interact with the guests. Adrienne and Barry Jones will be happy to help with any queries You will enjoy strolling around the quaint village with its unique shops, restaurants and interesting natural heritage. There is no public transport in the area. Your own transport is a must.
