Self-contained cosy 1 bedroom cottage. Built in 1890 originally as a hayloft. The cottage has been recently renovated and features original beamed ceilings both upstairs and downstairs. Situated on the edge of the town of Buckley and there is a train station about half a mile away. 8.5 miles to Chester.3 miles to Mold.4 miles to Airbus Chester. Moel Famau 9 miles. Chester zoo 15 miles away. The cottage was built in 19th Century as a hay loft and later converted to a one bedroomed cottage. The bedroom features a beamed ceiling mainly the original floorboards and the floor is as you would expect a little uneven. Whilst renovating we exposed the beamed ceiling in the lounge which was covered by plasterboard. Warning - the ceilings are low in the lounge and particularly the centre beam and doorway to the kitchen. The fireplace was also re-opened. It had been blocked and covered by a 1960’s hearth & fireplace in front. The stairs are narrow and the hand rail is low (it’s the original handrail) The stairs are open to the kitchen which gives a feeling of more space. Outside there is a very small Front garden space with original steps and gate (which weighed double before it was stripped and powder coated) Buckley was a famous pottery and brick making town. The pottery look was a brown with yellow writing. There is a local museum above Mold Library. There is also the Heritage Trail Walks in Buckley which were made by a local Historian and Chemist Mr James Bentley. The Cottage, Terrace and small garden to the rear. If unavailable for any reason you can leave a text message or What's app message and I will respond asap. If urgent text or call me. Spider Cottage is on the outskirts of the town. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the supermarket, however there is a small convenience store about 5 minutes away. Local shops include an off license, a hardware store, a tyre services, food take-aways. There are two petrol stations 1 mile away. (Bistre Garage (jet wash available) & Liverpool Road Garage with hand car wash available) A parking space is allocated adjacent to Spider Cottage. Buckley train station is located 0.5 miles away and connects to Liverpool and Wrexham. There are also local buses if you want to get to Mold, Chester, Ellesmereport etc. The cottage has been fitted with a P.I.V (Positive Input Ventilation) unit you circulate the air within the cottage and keep it ventilated. The cottage is also fitted with Infrared heating panels which are hot when on. This is one reason why children and babies are not on the list as ideal occupants. The stairs are narrow and not very deep, they are original with a lower than usual hand rail. Please bear this in mind when booking.
