The Globe
Situated in a secluded walled garden, "The Globe" is an american style wooden cabin with a porch and lean too. It has two double queen size beds, a kitchen and wet room. With two doors that open fully, the space is very much part of the (Website hidden by Airbnb) has several other chill out seating areas, two ponds, a raised bed vegetable patch and a bar come dining area called The Shambles. The feel is very relaxed and is a wonderful place to soak up the atmosphere over morning coffee or an evening BBQ. The Globe is designed to be part of the garden and is both cool in summer and warm in winter. The Kitchen has an espresso coffee maker, fridge and two electric hobs and the lean to has a Weber BBQ and spice rack which you are free to use. The place doubles up as an artist studio and is kept clean and tidy but is nicely eccentric and would be perfect for cyclists and guests on a road trip but may note suit those searching for a stereotypical Air BnB....Guests are welcome to use produce from the garden and make the Globe their home while they stay and I hope they get the chance to reconnect with the countryside. Other rooms are available in the main house, The Old Drugstore which is also on AirB&B... a building my daughter calls 'the Magic House"... if you are interested in staying in a larger group please get in touch as both can be hired together. When you arrive you can park in the town square 30 yds away and then move your car to the lm fre car park which is around 500 yds from the front door. There are two pubs, a cafe and a Co Op (open 6am -10pm) all on the town square. I will usually be staying in the main tudor house, The Old Drugstore and if I am away there will be someone around to help out should need anything. The Globe is one minute from Axbridge medieval square where you can park. A square that has two local pubs, The Lamb and The Oak which both serve good food, and a Co-Op, post office and the Alms House Tea Rooms Axbridge has a local bus service which can take you to Weston-super-Mare, Wells and Glastonbury and is 20 minutes from Bristol airport and 35 mins to Bristol by car. The town is nestled at the bottom of the Mendip Hills and on the edge of the Somerset Levels, both of which are fantastic for walking and cycling. One of the double beds is on a raised platform which is accessed by a wooden ladder....
