Modern apartment: city center

We offer a spacious, well equipped and bright flat (86 m2; 3 BDR, 2 bathrooms, high speed wireless internet) at a prime location in Maribor center. A few steps from: historic center, riverfront, bus/train station, city park, the surrounding hills. The luxury complex of flats situated in the very city center was built around ten years ago. It has all modern amenities (elevator, surveillance, underground garage, courtyard with decorative plants and paddling pool, a nice cafe...). Our flat is a modern 3-bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms, 3 smaller north-facing bedrooms (view of the local landmark hill Piramida), and an amazing sunny south-facing living area (sitting area, dining table, relaxation corner and a top quality modern kitchen with gas/electricity ceramic cooker, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a microwave). There is a washing machine in the big bathroom and a large storage room in the cellar, which is ideal for storing bicycles or skiing equipment if you come in winter. The guests will have access to the entire flat with all appliances and on request also to the storage room in the cellar. Bed linen and towels are provided. We live 20 km away so you won't see us except on arrival and departure. However, we are happy to provide any support or help to our guests if desired. The flat is a few hundred meters from the historic center with lots of cafes, restaurants and bars. The grocery stores and small boutique shops are abundant. The strip at the river hosts one of the best music festivals in Slovenia (Lent Festival) and offers various theater/music performances all year long. There are also a few museums and the city park. Public transport is just a few steps away, as is the train station and the bus station. Maribor is perfectly suited for cycling, everything is easily reachable. There are wonderful hiking and cycling trails along the river Drava, which runs through the city. On its left bank, where the historic center (and our flat) is, there is the city park, which continues into the area of small hills - perfect for hiking or biking. Pohorje - on the other side of the river - is a vast recreational area with a little bit higher hills. It is directly reachable from our place by city bus (number 6). In the winter, the main attraction is skiing; female alpine world cup races are held here every year (Website hidden by Airbnb) Also in the summer, guests can take the cable car with a magnificent views of the city. For the brave, there is a downhill bike park (Website hidden by Airbnb) There are a couple of wellness/spa centers around as well. A bit further around Maribor, there are several vineyards with vine tasting, local organic farms to visit, some interesting old towns like Ptuj and plenty of spas to relax and unwind at. The distance to the Slovene capitol Ljubljana is about 120 km. WINTER: although not directly at the slopes, our apartment is actually quite conveniently located for skiing: take the city bus number 6 (bus stop very close) which takes you directly to the cable car on the slopes (no need to worry about parking).
