Tucked away Tawnamoor Barns, 3 imaginatively converted stone barns. Cobble, 1 bedroom, open plan living room & kitchen with wood burner & double sofa bed. Unique wooden handmade features, vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, truly unique barn. Enjoys a small private outdoor seating area. Surrounded by peaceful private woodland & fields, accessed via a ½ mile driveway, stunning views, quiet location, lots of wildlife. Situation is as idyllic as it is convenient, central to everywhere in Cornwall. The cottages are positioned just beyond the owners’ home in 20 acres of ancient peaceful private woodland, surrounded by a working farm and are accessed via a ½ mile driveway up through the woods. The three cottages have segregated entrance paths and plenty of room for social distancing. Pheasants, hawks and buzzards may sometimes accompany your drive up through the woods and in the spring a carpet of bluebells cover the ancient woodland. The barns enjoy a delightful position overlooking the Glynn Valley and Lanhydrock Estate, and the barns and the immediate surrounding area were chosen as a film set for Ella’s journey. The countryside is undulating and lightly wooded and thought by some to be the most beautiful in the county. The situation is as idyllic as it is convenient, being central to everywhere in Cornwall, accessible to local amenities and out of the county without miles of winding lanes, but just distant enough from the outside world to be a quiet rural retreat. A haven for dogs, with lots of walks straight from the door. Max two dogs welcome. Dogs are not allowed to be left alone in the cottage and ask owners to keep the dog off the furniture. Bed linen and towels included. Electric heaters and electricity by subsidised meter reading. Complimentary wood, fire starters and firefighters for woodburner supplied on arrival. Further supplies of wood can be purchased from us on request for a nominal fee. Cot and highchair available on request. Utility room with free use of washer/dryer and ‘fun’ table tennis and dartboard (shared with other properties on-site). Patio with small table and chairs. Bike store. Designated parking. No smoking. We live just down the driveway in our own house, on hand for any queries or help, but just far enough to guarantee your own privacy. Just a 3-minute drive will take you to the A30 making exploring the whole of Cornwall very accessible. A 10-minute walk down the drive and along a country lane will take you to Cardinham Woods, with its award winning café, cycle trails and woodland walks, with stunning view points along the way. The woods are extremely popular with people of all ages and abilities, whether you enjoy a leisurely stroll or bike ride with your children; or for the more energetic a long hike, or for the hardy mountain biker the 12k Bodmin Beast Cycle Trail! Beaches of both the north and south coasts are about 15 miles away, some popular and offering fishing, sailing and surfing, others small and secluded; the coastal path is a continuous drama of cliff and sea and sky. There is excellent walking and cycling in the surrounding area, and the Longdowns bridle way runs past the barns. Restormel Castle and Lostwithiel are both 4 miles away, and Bodmin, 3 miles, has shops, cycle hire, swimming-pool, sports centre, inns, restaurants and golf. Bodmin Steam Railway can be heard in the distance within the valley and riding is available locally. Wadebridge and Camel Trail are a short drive away. We offer bike storage facility for those wishing to bring their own bikes. We are 1/2 mile from Cardinham Woods cycle trails. These three stone barns are dated mid 1700’s and have been lovingly converted using elm and oak from the surrounding woods, and offer a rustic quirky and charming interior. Each barn is unique and is full of interesting architectural features making the interiors appealing and offer a lovely warm welcoming ambience. Surrounded by pleasantly landscaped gardens and wonderful valley views from their own patios, they are ideal for couples looking for a perfect hideaway and for families seeking a secluded spot away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
