Our cottage, the Conners in Gardenstown is a recently refurbished Fishermans cottage built over 100 years ago. In (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) the entire cottage was sympathetically renovated by an award winning architect to create a warm and cosy retreat. Just feet from the ocean you can watch for whales, dolphins and seals together with birdlife from the comfort of the living room or enjoy walks on a golden beach just a few steps from the front door. The cottage has been fully refurbished with all the modern comforts you would expect whilst retaining the original charm and character of the original cottage. You really don't need our wood burning stove but when the waves are crashing against the house, or its a crisp winters day there is something special about lighting the fire. Upstairs we have two bedrooms with ample storage and a fantastic view along the waterfront to the beach from the master bedroom. The cottage has everything you need for your stay. Stylish and comfortable furniture, a dining area to enjoy food prepared in our modern and fully fitted kitchen and a television and wifi for those cosy nights in. Should you need a little more space we do have another property in the village, High green Hall that sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms and is ideal for families or a groups of friends. The cottage is prepared inline with the latest Covid19 guidance before every stay by our dedicated and fantastic house manager. We can be contacted at anytime via phone, email or (Hidden by Airbnb) and will do our very best to reply as soon as possible. Seatown in Gardenstown is the row of coloured cottages that make up the water front in the the old village. There is a single track road that runs feet above the sea as you pass the cottages to the parking area making it a fantastic and unique part of the North East coast of Scotland. The village itself has a small working harbour, perfect for enjoying some local fish and chips as the sun goes down or watching the boats come home. We have an excellent local pub with roaring fire, great food and drinks and a friendly welcome. There are a number of walks where you can enjoy the abundance of local wildlife, sea birds, seals, dolphins and whales can sometimes be seen from the cottage itself or up high on the cliffs. Just a short drive from Gardenstown you can buy seafood caught and landed locally, enjoy excellent food at the local restaurants and some fantastic golf courses are all within an hours drive. There are a number of historical sights within easy driving range including old airfields, stately homes, castles ( including the famous ruin of Slains Castle said to have inspired Bram Stokers Dracula ) Whiskey distilleries, nature reserves and miles of beautiful coastline to explore. Weather dependant we can also arrange for you to fly with our trusted friends and enjoy some of the North East from a light aircraft, a fantastic way to appreciate the local coastline and making for an unforgettable experience. There are a number of coastal walks that begin at the front door of our cottage including a short walk to the neighbouring village of Crovie under some towering cliffs that often requires a bit of well timed wave jumping. There are limited public transport options with a local bus service but we highly recommend you bring your own transportation. The drive along the waterfront can be quite a challenge but is all part of the charm of the village. You will often find a parking space beside the beach, about a 100 meters from the cottage and you are welcome to stop the car opposite the cottage to unload things before finding a space to park. If there are no spaces beside the beach you may park near the harbour just please be mindful not to block access.
