Set in scenic, peaceful riverside location pitched on decking our Emperor Bell Tent gives generous living & sleeping area to enjoy stunning river views & wildlife, then spectacular sunsets! Access private river nature island and local fishing by arrangement! Fully equipped with basics (wood stove, towels, bedlinen basic food prep area - tap outside at tent entrance, fire pit, BBQ, turf parking adjacent tent) Own shower & compost loo in separate structure. Play frame, trampoline, swing ball The Hideaway is set next to the river bank giving a lovely view over to our private island which is a nature lovers favourite. By arrangement with us you can access the island at your own risk using our dinghy. There is a steep bank down to the river and the island , although very peaceful, is rough and sometimes during the year overgrown, we try to keep some areas cleared. Our island is a place of interest to anyone who appreciates unspoiled country areas with bird and wildlife. As the name suggest our Emperor Bell Tent is palatial and offers the most luxurious camping space imaginable - 6m by 4m with central height of 3m. It is accessed by a private track and is located in our private grounds adjacent to our home. There is an "internal tent" available for a "bedroom" on request. Heavy duty waterproof PVC zipped in ground sheet. You can unzip and roll up the sides, handy for warm days. Semi circle zipped windows (with meshed mosquito nets) and air vents at the top to allow a gentle breeze on hot days. Attractive interior design which is also practical. Bed linen, towels and tea towels provided. A cot and highchair can be provided. The beds supplied are: 1 double futon, 1 double foam sofa bed, 1 single foam sofa bed, one fold down single visitors bed. Well behaved dogs welcome but must be under owners control at all times but we charge £3 per night to be paid on arrival. There are specific house rules regarding pets / dogs which must be adhered to (see additional rules) The price listed is for 4 people, beds (air beds) are available for extra guests at a cost of £10 per person per night with no bedding / towels supplied. If there are additional guests above 4, sleeping bags, pillows & towels can be supplied if requested but there is an additional charge of £10 per person per stay for these. Infants attract a charge of £5 per night if no bedding is supplied and £10 if bedding is to be supplied There is always someone available. This tranquil retreat is near to all local amenities (Coop, Garage, Post Office etc). The Otter Inn serving bar meals is a 5min walk away, cakes, etc... from Sally's (10 min walk) are just too good, people come from outside the county to shop at Steven Wilson butcher. Warwick Corn Mill has just been renovated. Many beautiful woodland, river and tarn walks near by. Talkin Tarn is a 10 min drive, Ullswater is 30 mins, Kids love Walby Farm! So much more too. There are regular buses from Carlisle to Newcastle with a stop about 10 min walk away but a car is recommended. The nearest train station is a Wetheral. Carlisle Lakes airport is about a 15 min drive away. There are so many good walks which we are happy to give information about once you are here. There is a wood burning stove in the tent (we provide firewood). There is a small fridge and a point to charge phones but no electric for other things such as hairdryers. There is no WIFI so guest may wish to download things prior to arrival.
