Charming French barn ideal for couple/short breaks

Light airy converted ground floor of barn with exposed beams and stone faced walls and large deck. It oozes charm and comfort in summer as well as winter. Guests comment on the comfortable bed! Walk in shower with underfloor heating and heated towel rail. Wheel chair friendly. The barn is at 725 m so cool evenings in the summer mean a great night’s sleep. The night skies are ablaze with stars, so perfect for stargazing. The D32 road passes the barn enabling you to get around quickly. Guests comment that it is quiet, especially after 5:00 pm so does not interfere with their barbecue evenings on the deck. I live next door and am available for any questions but will leave you to enjoy your privacy. My garden is on the opposite side to yours, so you are completely independent. Country walks and bike rides are on your doorstep. You will need a car to go to restaurants. 3 particularly good restaurants close by. One has a Michelin Star! 6 km away is a town with a bank, doctor, pharmacy, Carrefour Express, hairdresser, café and a wonderful bakery and butcher. Guests often purchase meat to take back when they leave! There is also a fish farm where you can buy fresh or smoked trout. Fishing is also possible at a small lake 4 km away. There is a train station 6 km away to Limoges and then on to Paris, Bordeaux and other major cities. Lakes with beaches are 10 and 15 minutes away. Rental of canoes, pedaloes etc at Lac de Bariousses. Restaurant, pétanque and other facilities. Mont D’or is just over an hour away for skiing in winter. The barn has maps for hikers and those wishing to explore the area by bike or on foot. Many scenic and historic towns in the area such as Collonges la Rouge, Argentat and Oradour sur Glane. The jacuzzi is available from May to end September.
