Comfortable and characterful home in Charente

The house is in a quiet hamlet, near a vibrant village with all amenities and wonderful and helpful French neighbours. You will gain access through a Master-lock system. Since 2002, we have transformed the house into a comfortable home. We have furnished the house both from our previous English homes and the many local brocantes. The house is private with a saltwater pool, a fenced field/garden and gated courtyard for parking. Families with young children or teenagers will be happy here with bicycles, table tennis, a proper tent and a “playroom” with dolls house and board games/toys/cards etc (also a daybed converting to double in this room). The sitting room with TV also has many books/dvds. The farmhouse kitchen table comfortably seats 8-10 at the most. The whole house bar one bedroom (not listed). We are always contactable via telephone/email but not based in France. We can provide an emergency local contact in the hamlet. Poiters and Angouleme are wonderful historic towns with many local events and festivals. Angouleme famously is host to the Graphic Novel Festival and also the French Film Festival. Futuroscope is 40 mins drive and well worth a visit. The glorious west coast of France is about 1 ½ hour drive. Couhe and Civray are our favourite shopping towns with great markets and boulangeries. We have bikes and there is a local taxi but you will need a car. The house will be cleaned/beds changed once a week unless otherwise arranged. The cleaning charge during your stay is €30.
