Fienile is a stylish 2 bedroom house created in the village of Silico with fantastic views and a stunning pool. Newly restored with a very modern finish, you can enjoy the luxury of modernity mixed in with traditional Italy. Relax at the pool with a fantastic view of the mountains. The fascinating medieval village of Silico is 2 minutes walk, there are mapped walks all around the village. The village has cultural attractions and events throughout the year. The house and pool have been created with quiet relaxation in mind, but gentle and interesting activities can be witnessed on the farm. The farm still works in the traditional way, with sheep, goats, and horses living on the quiet green pastures nearby. It is a fantastic environment for children,who can also explore the traffic free streets of the old village. The house has been restored from an old barn. The structure is rustic, and in contrast the furniture is stylish, modern and functional. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven and fridge/freezer. A washing machine is also available. Outside there is a spacious terrace with table and loungers and a panoramic view of the dramatic Apuane Mountains. There is a wood oven and a BBQ in the garden. The large shared 12x6 metre pool has a wonderful view over the mountains, with incredible sunsets over this unique place. It is possible to by products from the farm ( cheese, salamis, ham, marmalade, chestnut flour, faro, and other preserves. It is also possible to arrange for home made pizza, or for a 'tasting' meal featuring the products of the farm. There is an excellent family run restaurant in Silico, only a one minute walk from the farm. The village itself is interesting; tiny but with fine buildings and wonderful views. A well known medieval festival is held there during August. The area of Garfagnana is best known for its wonderful scenery, old fashioned ways, rustic food and outdoor activities. There are two 1 bedroomed apartments on the farm which share the pool and can also be rented. We can help arrange mountain biking, hill walking, horse riding, gorge walking and cooking classes which are all available locally. Guests will share a pool with 2 one bedroom apartments & 1 three bedroom apartment. The owners are very generous with the produce they make on the farm. The area is well known for its excellent value restaurants, using the best of local ingredients. A typical set lunch with 3 - 4 choices of pasta course, and 3 choices of main course costs only 10 euros inclusive of bread, wine and coffee. It is possible to have a multi-course traditional Sunday lunch or dinner with ample wine, coffee and liquers for less than 25 euros. Garfagnana is the best area in Tuscany for walking.
