This really special Bye Mills Shepherd's Hut has luxury and comfort for the discerning couple who care about quality. Sitting in a beautiful riverside wildflower paddock, the hut has an outside bothy with sofa and chair for a unique chill out space, a private hot tub, barbecue and a deck to watch the sunset from. The specially designed interior is accessorised carefully for quality, comfort and luxury. This charming hut is the second one at Bye Mills on the River Chew and we a have taken our experience and feedback from the first hut to make this even more special. We encourage you to take break from everyday life and enjoy being in the moment. With TV, WiFi to connect to your music streaming service to the blue tooth speaker whilst you take in the unique location, observe our mass of wildlife and enjoy being with each other without the distractions of everyday life. At night the garden makes a magical setting to sit with a fire and listen to the nearby wier, stargaze and listen to the owls. By day the beauty of the setting, the birdsong, glimpses of kingfishers and otters make this place magical. If you choose we are 12 miles west of Bath, 5 miles south of Bristol, close to Wells and Cheddar Gorge - all worth exploring. Alternatively just stay local and find out what the Chew Valley has to offer. Accommodation Features; • The hut has a comfortable king size bed with all seasons duvet, extra blankets for your warmth and comfort. The bed linen is 400thread count Egyptian Cotton • There is a sofa and side table. • Log Burner • Kitchen equipped with fridge with ice box (no freezer), • Butler sink, small two ring electric hob, combiner's microwave, convection oven with grill). • Ensuite bathroom with shower, thick fluffy towels and bathrobes. • Hot tub with flip flops and spa towels. • Storage places for clothes including 2 cupboard for your clothes and drawers Bye Mills Farm is no longer a working farm but home to my family of 4. The paddock is at the far side of our large rural garden. We will give you space and privacy and will rarely see each other, there may be walkers along the river footpath but for the most part the hut is private A car is recommended as there is no easily convenient public transport locally, just a bus from Pensford. We offer on site parking, Bye Mills Farm is no longer a working farm but home to my family of 4. The paddock is at the far side of our large rural garden. We will give you space and privacy and will rarely see each other, there may be walkers along the river but for the most part the hut is private The Chew Valley boasts many fantastic pubs including the Rising sun at Pensford with its beautiful beer garden, the Bear and Swan in Chew Magna, Lazy Lobster fish restaurant and Salt n Malt beside the very picturesque Chew Valley Lake. Bye Mills is situated next to Blackmore and Langdon Nurseries - prize winning exhibitors of Delphiniums and Begonias at Chelsea. If you wish to experience some foraging or bush survival skills we are very close to Hidden Valley Bushcraft run by ex-marine Nick Goldsmith. Or you could visit The Community Farm beside Chew Lake for organic produce. Bristol and Bath both feature markets, theatres and restaurants. Historic Bath and Wells are famous for Bath Abbey, The Roman Baths and Pump Room, Bath's famous Georgian architecture and crescents, Wells Cathedral and The Bishops Palace in Wells. Cheddar Gorge for walks, Frome for markets and shopping. There are many footpaths around for walking, we are happy to provide maps of the local area. Please do not imagine that you can use your phone as a satnav to follow routes, the signal is not always consistent and you could end up lost. We are very rural and I would recommend that if you want to explore further afield that you will need a car as taxis are expensive. The nearest bus stop is 15 minute leisurely walk along the river to Pensford from where you catch a bus every 30 minutes to Bristol or Wells. We are a 15 minute car journey from Bristol Airport, 20 minutes into central Bristol, or 30 minutes drive to Bath or Wells. Please note that the post code will bring you to one of 10 addresses within a miles radius and you should check the instructions to get here rather than just relying on your satnav. This hut is set up for couples wishing to enjoy some special time together and to explore Bath, Bristol and the neighbouring area. Bye Mills Farm is not suitable for groups and we do not encourage our guests to have day visitors.
