You can stay near the wonderful space of the Mediterranean nature ( excellent olive oil, fruits, vegetables and so on ) and spend your holiday in complete tranquility, fascinated by the colors, flavors and scents of Sicily. The house is located around 6 Km of the seaport and railway-station of Trapani and 8 Km from the center of Erice ( Erice Vetta ) , in Via del Pegno No. 4, Rigaletta, Casa Santa, Erice. You can use ATM bus ( Azienda Trasporti e Mobilità ) as one of public transport. When you use buses, please get on Number 25 and get off at the end ( Contrada Pegno ). It takes you about 30 min. from the center of Trapani. ATM provides bus service from about 7:00 to 21:00 except Sundays and holidays. It is inconvenient to use cable-cars, because the landing place of cable-cars is 4 Km away from the house. In case of cars, using the exit " ERICE " is convenient. It is about 2 Km from the house. It's easy to access Erice, Egadi islands,San Vito Lo Capo, the Zingaro, Scopello, Segesta, Mozia and still many other beautiful places. Erice Vetta : Erice Vetta, the main town of Erice is located on top of Mount Erice, at around 750 metres above sea level, overlooking the city of Trapani, the low western coast towards Marsala, the dramatic Punta del Saraceno and Capo San Vito to the north-east, and the Aegadian Islands on Sicily's north-western coast. Motya ( Mozia ) : It lies in the Stagnone Lagoon, which is within the comune of Marsala. Riserva Naturale Orientata ( Saline di Trapani e Paceco ) : It is a nature reserve in the Province of Trapani between the municipalities of Trapani and Paceco at the west coast of Sicily. It's famous for salt pans, salt museum and so on. Riserva Naturale Orientata dello Zingaro : Zingaro is a true paradise of nature due to the great variety of natural environments present on its 1,600 hectares. The coast opens onto the sea with high and jagged limestone walls, interrupted by coves, rocky ravines and caves. The altitude of its peaks ranges from 610 meters ( above sea level ) of Pizzo Passo del Lupo to 913 meters of Monte Speziale. Starting from the sea level, and continuing uphill to the highest peaks, we encounter different types of ecosystems, all extremely significant. Walking along the coastal path, from Scopello to San Vito Lo Capo, 7 kilometers of wonders of great variety will unfold before us. Our eye will wander among the many enchanting blue bays – Cala Tonnarella dell’Uzzo, Cala dell’Uzzo, Cala Marinella, Cala Berretta, Cala della Disa, Cala del Varo, Cala Capreria – where the delicate colors of the smooth white pebbles alternate to the harshness of the rock. The itineraries are many and all rich of surprises. Scopello : It is a coastal village, in the municipality of Castellammare del Golfo in the province of Trapani. Tonnara of Scopello and the small church of Scopello are very famous and admirable. Le isole Egadi ( Aegadian Islands ): Le isole Egadi ( Aegadian Islands ) consists of three major islands - Levanzo, Favignana and Marettimo - as well as several beautiful uninhabited islands, which are also available to visit. Egadi Islands are located to the west coast of Sicily; they attract attention of many tourists due to their unique nature and abundance of first-class beaches. In high-season, islands are crowded with tourits. It would be best to book for one-day-trip ( excursion ), ferry and so on, in advance. Marsala : The town is famous for wine. You will be able to participate in wine-tasting. ( Reservation is required. ) Mazara del Vallo : It is famous for Cathedral and the “ Dancing Satyr ”. it has a charming old town centre and its narrow streets are characterised by the typical Islamic layout called Casbah. Segesta : It is archeological remains, which was one of the major cities of the Elymian people. Belvedere di Castellammare del Golfo : Belvedere of Castellammare del Golfo offers a wide view of the port and the whole country. The seaside village, characterized by narrow streets and stairways, slowly slopes towards the sea. You can enjoy a good part of the gulf, in particular the sandy coastline between Castellammare and Alcamo. In addition to these places, there are many places to visit around Trapani province. Please ask us, when you stay at our house. Our house is in country areas. The houses exist sparsely. As the area is away from the hustle and bustle of town, it's not noisy. ----- How to reach us ----- From the highway A29 ( Palermo - Trapani ), please break away at the exit of Erice-direction. At the roundabout pass the bowling center and take a right at the intersection towards Via Palermo ( SS113 ), take left on Via viale Crocci ( SP 52 ) and follow directions for Crocci. Take an other left on Via del Pegno ( it's not Contrada Pegno!!! ) and you'll find us at number 4. Note : Depend on where you are, the navigator indicates different ways to come to Ostellino. The best way is : A29 -> Exit ERICE ( or Exit Fulgatore ) -> SS113 ( Via Palermo ) -> SP52 ( Via Viale Crocci ) -> Via del Pegno Even if the navigator indicates SS187 -> Via del Pegno ( especially from the direction of San Vito lo Capo, Scopello, Lo Zingaro and so on ), please don't take these roads. Because the road is bad. We have a free parking in the front of house. We have the other room ( mini-apartment ), next to the house, where you are interested in. There may be guests in that mini-apartment during your stay. But don't worry, your house and their house are separate. The kitchen, bathroom and shower are independent. The gate, parking and BBQ space are common spaces. Thanks for your understanding in advance.
