Owners Lorraine & Laurie live at the adjacent Vineyards Farm, and are available to offer help. Cottage keys are available from the Vineyards Farm on your arrival, or alternatively if you message Lorraine she will make arrangements for you to have access to the self check in key safe. The quiet hamlet of Wyke is situated close to the world heritage site of Ironbridge, and the historic market town of Much Wenlock,. Cowslip Cottage is situated next to the Vineyards Farm which is reached by a private unlit stoned lane heading downhill from Wyke and signposted 'The Vineyards Farm' & Cowslip Cottage. Look out for wildlife along this track (which is part of the popular Shropshire Way long distance footpath), as fallow deer, hare, badgers, foxes, rabbits and squirrels abound! You may also see partridge, pheasants swallows and buzzards or a red Kite flying over the fields. The property is a brick and stone building converted into two flats, the the generously proportioned ground floor flat opens directly onto the garden. Car parking is next to the building and the owners, Lorraine and Laurie live in the Farm next door. Free WiFi is provided, although the speeds and availability are subject to the internet provider, and reflect provision in rural Shropshire. Built in a rural setting alongside The Shropshire Way, the Cottage is surrounded by the glorious Shropshire countryside, there are endless footpaths to explore locally. It is a lovely country walk of approx 3.5 miles to Much Wenlock and there is also a woodland walk through Benthall woods to the world famous Ironbridge. Locally the National Trust property of Benthall Hall is just across the fields. Alternatively all are less than 10 minutes drive by car. The Jack Mytton Way, a long distance bridleway is also within easy reach. There is also a nearby bridleway/cycle track from Benthall through the woods to Ironbridge where it joins the Mercian Way ( National Cycle Network Route 45). The County town of Shrewsbury can be reached in 20 minutes with the historic towns of Ludlow, Church Stretton, Wellington and Bridgnorth all within a 30 minute drive. The M54 and the new town of Telford, with its large indoor shopping centre, restaurants, cinemas, ice rink and exceptional town park can be reached in about 15 minutes. Within walking/cycling distance of Much Wenlock, Ironbridge, Broseley & Benthall. (3-4 miles) Public transport - Railway station at Telford about 9 miles. Nearest bus stop at Posenhall Farm, which is reached by an unlit country lane, and is one mile away. Buses run at two hourly intervals. Own transport highly recommended. Very quiet and peaceful. Ample parking behind cottage. Long distance footpath 'The Shropshire Way' follows the track to the cottage and passes alongside the garden. The Jack Mytton Way passes less than 1/2 mile away. Excellent area for walking, bird-watching and wildlife. Easy access to Ironbridge, Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth, Telford & Shrewsbury.
