Lovely Cabin in the Woods, away from the crowds.
Self-contained oak cabin with double bed, shower and kitchenette. Tucked in amongst the trees on the edge of woodland at the back of our semi-rural property, the cabin has a private deck area with views across the neighbour's field where sheep and horses graze. You may also see deer and rabbits and be serenaded by tawny owls in the evening. Good WiFi. Walking distance of the South of England showground, Wakehurst Place, local pubs and close to Ardingly College. Breakfast included. Good for WFH Newly built by a local craftsman and fitted to a very high standard, the cabin is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is close enough to London and Brighton for overnight and weekend trips. It makes a great base for those wanting to explore the beautiful Sussex countryside. There is a wood-burning stove with a plentiful supply of logs as well as an alternative electric heater. The layout is similar to a shepherd's hut but more spacious and with a vaulted ceiling. The bathroom has underfloor heating, a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, sink and toilet. The kitchen features a two-ring electric hob, fridge, sink and microwave. Included in the price, we provide the basics for breakfast including bread, jam, cereals, coffee and tea. There is a Nespresso coffee machine for you to enjoy a morning cappuccino. We are a short walk from two pubs which serve great meals and a cafe for breakfasts, brunch and lunches. In the village there is also a Chinese take away, bakers (great bread) and post office. We can provide maps and ideas for local walking routes. The Missing link micro brewery and tap room is also in walking distance. The cabin has a luxury new Eve double bed with high quality Egyptian cotton bedding. There is full internet access and a smart TV with the Netflix /Amazon app (your own log in required). There is a desk for use if needed for work. The area is ideal for hikers and cyclists and we can arrange bike storage if needed. It is suitable for overnight stays or longer term for people working in the area or working from home. Good food and very popular - advance booking recommended at the weekends. We are also in walking distance of the Missing Link micro brewery/tap room which serves food on their field. A lovely walk through the woods (45 mins) Please note that there is no supermarket in the village. It's best to bring groceries with you if you plan to cook in the cabin. We are 20 minutes drive from Gatwick Airport (you can park here free of charge) and 4 miles from Haywards Heath with fast trains to London, Gatwick and Brighton. If traveling by train from London, Haywards Heath is generally the most convenient station as taxi's are readily available. Balcombe is about the same distance but is a small rural station with no taxi rank. We provide you with a breakfast items on the day of arrival and the fridge is well-stocked with milk, juice, eggs etc. enough for at least 2 days. Guests on longer stays may need to get extra breakfast items.
