The gastropub in Longdown is the Lamb, and it is a 10 minute walk. Homefield is a very peaceful location, with authentic Dartmoor ponies in the field beside the house, and goats, chickens, geese and ducks in the back garden. In the other direction, Exeter is 3 miles away, and there is a local bus that will stop outside the house if requested. the M5 is 5 minutes away, and the A30 and A38 about 3 minutes by car. Sandy park rugby stadium is less than 8 miles to drive, and Haldon forest is 4-5 miles. the coastal resorts of Exmouth and Dawlish are about a 20 minute drive, and Powderham castle, Castle Drogo and Crealy adventure park are all close to Exeter. Although a peaceful location, there are geese, ponies, etc on site which you should be aware of.
