The Hilltop Hideaway is a custom built cabin offering an off-grid experience in a secluded natural setting THERE ARE NO ELECTRICITY OR PLUMBING FACILITIES The insulated cabin has floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views. The bed is 140x200cm, pillows and blankets are provided. A compost toilet is in a separate building nearby. Bottled water, a gas burner, and BBQ are provided. Guests are invited to work in bio garden and welcome to take seasonal vegetables PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION BELOW With the intention of fully immersing guests in the natural surroundings, Hilltop Hideaway DOES NOT HAVE ELECTRICITY OR PLUMBING. A compost toilet set inside its own building is 5 meters from the house, and natural running spring water pours from a prepared pipe 10 meters in the other direction most of the year. We also provide a simple solar shower that we fill for the first use, but requires refilling after each use. Flashlights and lanterns are provided for guests as well. Hilltop Hideaway is both a name and a description: it is located at the top a hill overlooking a beautiful valley; to reach the cabin you will drive around 15 minutes UP a paved road with a number of switchbacks. It is located 15 minutes from the town of Most Na Soci. The Hilltop Hideaway sits in a small clearing under the partial shade of a walnut tree, and is surrounded by forest on all sides and ACCESSIBLE FROM A PARKING AREA BY A MODERATE 10 MINUTE WALK ALONG A FOOTPATH THROUGH THE FOREST. A variety of fruit trees grow in the clearing, including plum and several apple trees, frequently luring deer and other woodland animals from the protection of the forest into the view of the cabin. The house is fully insulated using all natural sheep wool, with a double roof system that provides further insulation as well as increased air circulation. Double glazed floor-to-ceiling windows offer spectacular views of the Idrica Valley and the hills beyond. Although small, the Hilltop Hideaway features a normal size double bed (140x200 cm) with under bed storage, seating and small tables inside. There is a portable barbecue as well as a single gas burner for food preparation outside, and guests are welcome to pick seasonal vegetables from the small gardens around the house or fruit from the surrounding trees. Although the Hideaway is in a remote location, we are available via phone (call, SMS, (Hidden by Airbnb) ) and are happy to help via phone or in person. Your neighbors are the deer, hedgehogs, and rabbits that live in the surrounding forest! There are several local families that live 5-10 minute walks away, but the forest will give you practically complete privacy! While a car is generally recommended for visitors to the Hilltop Hideaway, we are happy to provide transportation to and from the local train or bus station, with a stop at a supermarket along the way if desired. Supermarkets and other facilities are not within walking distance of the house.
