Norumbega Green Double-Yurt, "Peace & Quiet"
Get off the grid and experience Peace and Quiet. Our Double Yurt package includes 2 yurts (one for sleeping and one for eating/cooking) connected by a deck in the quaint village of New Gloucester, Maine. We're open mid- May to September. Double Yurt, Peace & Quiet is set in a private spot on our 300 acre farm. The yurts overlook Talking Brook a lovely stream with waterfalls in the fall and a 3 mile stream loop trail that you can see and easily access from the yurts. Perfect for a morning walk. A trail map is available of other trails on our property. There is also a cidery on the property (Norumbega Cidery) and 10 acres of newly planted apple trees. In the back field we are hosting cows for the summer. Our garden is near the yurts with 2 bird houses that are hosting some beautiful swallows for the summer. If you book on the first weekend of the month, the Cidery (up the road from the yurts) will be open on Saturday afternoon with cider tasting, food truck and music. Peace and Quiet is the only rental on the property. It is yours and yours alone! A stay at Peace and Quiet is very much like that at a cabin. Our home is nearby and we are available in a pinch, but think of this as glamping. You may see us or our son working throughout the day -- either gardening, mowing, pressing apples, tending the apple orchards, or walking the dogs (Mocha and Sadie). Our property is at the dead end of a dirt road in bucolic New Gloucester. The Village Store is 3.5 miles away where you may get food and beverages, but not sundries. If you arrive in the dark, please be advised that the short road to the yurt is not lit. We can provide specific directs for you.
