Hiwassee Hideaway: Private Riverfront & Golfing

Hiwassee Hideaway is a secluded 14 acre two house waterfront estate overlooking the Hiwassee River. The property is maintained as an 18 tee box golf course facing one professionally spec'd golf green. Surrounded by miles of unspoiled, protected forrest, this unique property is a golfer's and outdoorsman's dream. This getaway allows for endless activities (fishing, etc.). Great for weddings, reunions, and corporate retreats. The golf course is not traditional, as it is designed into the property with 18 tee boxes focusing on one green. There is also a driving range. None of the course or property is available to the public or professionally staffed. Clubs are not available to rent, so please bring your own. The green is currently less than perfect but playable. Two golf carts, a paddle boat and a tandem (two-person) kayak are available for use on the property for no additional fee. The river level is seasonal, with low water levels from approximately late October to early May. Both houses are included with rental. Access inside both barns and the historic log cabin is prohibited. This property is truly isolated. Very few businesses are nearby. The property lies in a dry county, so make sure to stock up on wine and liquor before arrival. Beer and essentials (bread, eggs, etc) are available at a gas station 10 min. away. There is a smaller grocery store, The Fresh & Low, 15 minutes from the property and a Publix 30 minutes away. The property is located: 46 miles from downtown Chattanooga (1 hour). 84 miles from downtown Knoxville (1.5 hours). 150 miles from Atlanta (2.5 hours). 40 miles from whitewater kayaking/tubing on the Ocoee and Upper Hiwassee. Must be 25 years of age to book. Due to the remoteness of the property, cell phone service is not perfect. Texts will usually go through, but voice calls may fail. Varies with carrier brand. There is a land line on the premises available to guests. While we carry the best wifi available in the area, it too can be less than perfect. Multiple guests logged on at the same time make this matter worse. Streaming is not great, but the multiple TVs have Dish Network with many channels.
