The Serra do Açor is next to Serra da Estrela in central Portugal, a region of great natural beauty, dotted with many small villages, its people are friendly and hospitable. Tourism is virtually nonexistent, keeping up this corner of Portugal in a genuine and great tranquility. Fonte de Raiz is where the house is located near towns and villages of great interest, such as Côja, Benfeita, Avô, Piódão. In summer you can enjoy the river beaches or take up a good bath in the pools of neighboring villages. If you like walking there are five trails in the Mata Margaraça and Schist Path in Benfeita, among others, all of great beauty, with lush vegetation, waterfalls, rocky slopes of shale and buildings.
