The Boat and Breakfast Maarssen

A large family, a large boat. That was the reason why we started in 1989 with the design of "the ark of Njio." Before that we lived with a family of six on a cargo ship of less than 70 m2. As cosy as it was, it became to small and it was time for something new. With the help of many friends we started the construction of what is now our home. In 1991 the foundation stone was laid on a concrete shell. Soon after that things started to get shape. Two floors, seven bedrooms, a living room and three bathrooms later, the ark was ready to live on. In 1992 we moved into our new home. Now, 20 years later, our children have moved and their rooms became empty. So it was time for something new and we started our Bed and Breakfast.
