Seaspray is a traditional stone built fisherman’s cottage in the conservation village of Portknockie on the north east coast of Scotland. It’s light and bright yet a cosy retreat from those refreshing salty coastal winds. Although quaint to look at from the outside, inside it is tardis-like with 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms. A small but pretty back garden allows you to enjoy the premises from the outside too. Once through the original and characterful double front door, a hallway with slate floor has plenty of hanging space for your belongings. Off this is the newly decorated master bedroom and en-suite, a family bathroom and living room with log burning stove and large corner sofa. The living room leads in to the bright and airy kitchen, with slate floor and underfloor heating. Upstairs is a third toilet, twin room and two further double bedrooms. A cot with bassinet option is available if required and can be prepared in a room of your choice. There is tv in the living room and master bedroom. Both receive Freeview and in the living room an Amazon Firestick allows streaming from channels of your choice such as Netflix or PrimeVideo. Both can also be connected to a smart device with an AV cable (one is provided). There is unlimited broadband and a Sonos speaker too. The back garden is thoughtfully planted and looks pretty with colour and interest throughout the year. There is a patio’d area immediately out of the kitchen’s french doors, with a bbq and bistro set for al fresco dining. Whole house and back garden. Free on street parking at all hours. Unfortunately we are not close enough to meet you in person but we are happy to help in any way we can and are contactable by text or email. If it is urgent assistance you require please telephone/video call. WiFi calling or (Hidden by Airbnb) will probably be the most reliable ways to do any of the above. The village is well placed for a variety of activities. The village beach has an original (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ’s ‘paddler’ which is very popular in the summer months. Nearby Cullen beach is a glorious stretch of beach and walkable from the cottage. There is also a golf course by Cullen beach (one of many along the coast) which must have one of the nicest views from any golf course! Other beaches of note are Sandend, popular with the local and visiting surfing community, Kingston and Lossiemouth. The Moray coast is popular with walkers and often small groups are seen passing through the village. The area is also on the doorstep of the famous Malt Whisky Trail. Several distilleries are dotted along the coastline, some in production, others of a time gone by. Not long a drive inland will take you to the heart of Speyside. There are many historic fishing villages to visit along the coast too, all with their own proud identity and unique charm: Portsoy has delicious ice cream and an ancient harbour, Sandend has a truly unspoilt beach, and Portknockie has a vintage (refurbished) paddling pool. Further east is Crovie-worth a visit if you can take the time for the drive. Cyclists pass through the village a lot and there are some mountain biking tracks in the woodland "Winding Walks" approximately 12 miles away towards Fochabers. In addition to all of this, there are historical country houses, ruined castles and abbeys, National Trust of Scotland attractions, 'build you own boat' programs and boutique and mainstream options on the food and drinks scene-seafood featuring prominently of course. The best way to get around and see the most you can of the Moray coast is by car. The local bus service and taxi firms are are regular, reliable and comfortable. Although we don’t currently have facilities to store and lock bikes outside, the kitchen or hallway are large enough to keep a couple of bikes in. Many people get around by foot as the area is popular with coastal walkers. If you were to do this however, we’d recommend you had the proper hiking footwear. Strictly no smoking please and no animals.
