Rural retreat on the edge of the Cotswolds.
The Potting Shed is a contemporary wooden garden studio nestled at the bottom of the owner's 100 metre garden, located next to a natural woodland area. It has its own private garden to the rear, which is a haven for natural wildlife including many birds and animals such as badgers, foxes and rabbits. The garden has a fire pit which guests are welcome to use. Marshmallows provided on request! The entrance to the Potting Shed opens into an open plan kitchen, dining and living room. This leads into an open plan double bedroom and separate bathroom, with a large walk in shower, sink and toilet. The kitchen has an electric hob and oven and a fridge with an ice compartment. The studio is heated with effective, plug in electric heaters. There is off street parking for 2 cars. The owner lives in the cottage, in the garden of which The Potting Shed is located. Although often away, she can be contacted by mobile telephone if you have any questions. If she is at home, you are welcome to knock on her door if you need her help. The property is located in the middle of a thriving village with a community run shop, excellent village pub and beautiful Norman church, all within walking distance. The popular Cotswold Way walking trail runs past the top of the village and there are also many cycle routes close by. Coaley is 4 miles from Dursley, a small market town with 3 supermarkets, banks, a post office and a number of good cafes and pubs. Cam and Dursley train station is 2 miles from the cottage. The city of Gloucester with its beautiful cathedral is 30 minutes away and Cheltenham, great for shopping, is 40 minutes away. There are a number of local tourist attractions including Slimbridge Wild and Wetlands Trust which is 5 miles by car. This is a wetland area created by Sir Peter Scott as a way of protecting birds that fly to the area each summer and conserve their habitats. The Trust has been much developed over the last decade and has fantastic bird watching facilities, an excellent café with locally grown produce as well as canoe rides and Welly Boot Land for younger visitors. Prema arts centre in Uley (3 miles by car) has a small art gallery and a programme of live performances each weekend. Berkeley Castle (7 miles away) is a magnificent 11th century castle, famous for its dungeon where Edward II was held prisoner in 1327.
